The Boatyard Grill is offering a free dinner to anyone who brings their Nobel Prize.

If I was Obama, I would go here and use my Nobel Peace Prize for a free meal just for the sheer pleasure of seeing the next day's headlines on Fox.

Oddly enough, the only way I can solve the Rubik's cube is after a few drinks.

It's all muscle memory, and if I think about it too hard my brain gets in the way of my hands.

They've got to do something to boost the self-esteem around there; anything really to stop the recent spate of "gorges" suicides.

Well, if that stopped the dining halls would have to stop serving their "Asian pancake" specialty.

The only time I was ever in Ithaca was in college when I was visiting my friend at Binghamton for a weekend. We decided to take an afternoon road trip to Ithaca Brewery. They're awesome.

And here I thought being able to solve a Rubik's cube would never have any real life benefit. All those countless hours spent as an antisocial pimply teenager honing my skills will finally pay off!

Now, where's my drink?

There was a big mental hospital there. It was closed about 20 years back unleashing a horde of babbling vagrants the likes of which the world has never known.

Towns always had a ton of freaks though. Whew.

There's something sad about paying to join a club where the exclusivity is based on something you can't control. Also, you're basicly saying "I have a lot of potential", well that's super, but how 'bout you tell me what you did with that?

Agreed. It also has nothing to do with what you're like as a person. A group of people with blue eyes is just as ridiculous: you end up standing around with nothing to talk about. "I have blue eyes, you have blue eyes...Um...How about this crazy weather!"

Anyway, it's more fun to be the smart person, than to have to sit in a group of smart people all trying to be the smart person at the same time. It's astoundingly tiresome.

Mensa's pointless. It's like joining a club for people with extreme body proportions, or a club for people with abnormally high VOsMAX.

Unless you actually do something with that intelligence for the good of society, STFU and GBTW.

I was class of '97 as well. Odd.

Word to the wise though: don't move back. That place sucks you in, and in 10 years you'll find yourself protesting a McDonalds for not using cruelty-free faux chicken. I spent '98 hanging around town, writing the great american pulp novel, and by the next year it was obvious to me that I had to LEAVE.
