I LOVE this argument from the Republicans. That somehow Obama passing legislation he campaigned on is provoking violence. Its like they actually know how emotionally retarded and overreactive their constituents have become. it is akin to a zookeeper saying "Dont taunt my monkeys or they will fling poo at you"

Translation: "If Obama and company wouldn't promote their policies and be happy when they pass, we wouldn't have to cut gas lines, throw bricks, or send white powder in envelopes! We have so little self control that the mere sight of the President causes us to act out in childish rage at our government because we don't like how democracy works when we're not in power!"

"He is implying that Obama only won because he was "popular" and that the majority of those who voted for him did so for exceptionally superficial reasons. It couldn't possibly be that people voted for him for his policies, but because he was "popular."

That is quite demeaning.

And when you consider how many people said they liked Bush, not for policy, but because he seemed like a guy you could go sit down and have a beer with (and how right-wing pundits drove this notion of "he's one of us so he's cool to vote for" home)... it's really frustrating."

JoJoTheIdiotMonkeyBoy: Why do the Republicans keep saying Obama needs to stop provoking people? They've spent the last two years trying to whip their base into an angry frenzy of idiots. Obama and the other Democrats haven't done anything

Is this some kind of veiled threat? Is this one of those things like, "Hey, I'm not saying anyone's going to take a swing at you, I'm just saying you're asking for it"?

Are Republicans looking for an excuse to do harm to politicians? "I was provoked, your honor! That's why I had to kill the senator and his family!"

I suppose only time will tell.

Obamba hijacked the federal deficit, and you call that nothing?

Dems have done more damages in the few months theyve been in power then anything you dems think Republicans could come up with.

All2morrowsparTs: You do realize that Tea Baggers are the vast MINORITY in this country and most of those are complaining about big government while they take big government handouts like Medicare and SS.

That's exactly what I've been trying to point out all along. They are a tiny minority, no matter how much Fox News tries to change that fact. They have convinced themselves that they have the numbers to force their views on the rest of us with threats of revolution. Good luck with that. If they ever get stupid enough to actually try something like that they will quickly find out just how few of them there actually are.

Fark rejected my link for this, because it hates me, but Bloomberg did a poll that pretty much shows what you already knew:

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601070&sid=aLBZwxqgYgwI

Basically, 90% of Teabaggers think that the Gummin't is turning socialist and too big, and gettin' in the way o' honest business...

...and 70% of same think a better role would be, you know, reining in Wall Street, getting everyone jobs, and shoring up Medicare and such.

Only 10% were able to identify the V.A. -- as the only Government-Run health care, in that the government employs the docs, owns the facilities, and pays for everthing, as "socialist." 12% felt that national parks and museums qualified as "socialist," and about a 1/3 that Medicare and Medicaid, being single-payer health insurance plans, are such.

Who possibly could have imagined that all this anger at socialism health care that will destroy our republic's great history of freedom and the constitution and knee-length skirts might be... anger at... I don't know... a certain President that don't look like all the uthern Presidents?

Note: I'm not calling them all racist. I'm sure there's plenty of ageism, anti-intellectualism, paranoid senility and whatever the term is when old people are racist but, because it's kind of cute the way they use those old-timey slurs and offer exceptions for Wayne Brady and the nice special-needs boy what helps with the bags at the market, we call it something else, too...

I also remember that during the Bush years that there were those "Free Speech Zones" and Secret Service or other Law Enforcement would either whisk you away from general viewing or make it very difficult to stage a protest. There wasn't a lot of media coverage at all of the anti war protests during that period and I should know. I attended a few that i had to really google w/ specific information just to find any write ups on.

As anti Faux News as this administration is at least they allow their opposition express their views freely.
