Obama needs to channel Steve Irwin.
"Croikey! Look at the soize of that teabagger! After giving birth, the females usually swell up to three toimes their natural soize! And roight next to her is an alpha male! Note the distinct plumage of his poorly silk-screened "Don't Tread on Me!" shirt!
Watch their reaction as I smile and wave! Ooh, he's really mad now! When enraged, the male teabagger turns a broight shade of red and exudes perspiration! Watch what happens when I poke him with this stick!"

Why do the Republicans keep saying Obama needs to stop provoking people? They've spent the last two years trying to whip their base into an angry frenzy of idiots. Obama and the other Democrats haven't done anything

Is this some kind of veiled threat? Is this one of those things like, "Hey, I'm not saying anyone's going to take a swing at you, I'm just saying you're asking for it"?

Are Republicans looking for an excuse to do harm to politicians? "I was provoked, your honor! That's why I had to kill the senator and his family!"

I suppose only time will tell.

The person quoted in the headline is a douche.

He is implying that Obama only won because he was "popular" and that the majority of those who voted for him did so for exceptionally superficial reasons. It couldn't possibly be that people voted for him for his policies, but because he was "popular."

That is quite demeaning.

And when you consider how many people said they liked Bush, not for policy, but because he seemed like a guy you could go sit down and have a beer with (and how right-wing pundits drove this notion of "he's one of us so he's cool to vote for" home)... it's really frustrating.

The rest of the quote, "How I long for the days of a "cowboy" President I didn't always agree with, but always respected."

Seriously? Even after Mission Accomplished, Abu Graib AND Katrina? Respected? Bullshiat.

You just have to laugh at it. Seriously, the Teabaggers are demented and completely out of touch w/reality. I've talked to too many (unfortunately have a few in my family) and you just can't get them to listen to reason. No matter what fact you give them, they'll just deny it and then insult you. Therefore, just give up & fark with them. It's much more fun. Yesterday, one was screaming about how I could be so calm about my country turning socialist. I asked her to define socialism and got "You know what it means! Like Russia!"

Me: "Russia's not socialist anymore. Don't you mean like France?"
Her: "Yes! Exactly like France!"
Me: "France isn't socialist, either."
Her: "*sputter*...I don't have to sit here & listen to your liberal BS!"

Win.

Provoking?
I guess Obama shouldn't have been dressed that way.

2010-03-26 11:26:06 AM
Who gloats like that?

Next, Obama will dress up in a flight suit and fly a jet onto an aircraft carrier to adress the troops under a 'mission accomplished' banner.

Way to be humble in victory, Obama!

You do realize that Tea Baggers are the vast MINORITY in this country and most of those are complaining about big government while they take big government handouts like Medicare and SS.

And yet, the big rallying cry of Republicans in 2004 was that Bush was the guy you could have a beer with, and Kerry was bad at sports (*cue photo of John Kerry getting hit in the face with a football*)

Obama surely miscalculated on this health-insurance reform business. He thought we'd take it easy after the bill was passed.

Thats not going to happen. We're not going to get over it. Some liberals may want the government to handle everything while they live their life in the fast lane. Me? Not so much. The Bible tells me that the Anti-christ will provide for my physical needs but keep me from Salvation! Can't you see this, people! The government is the anti-christ!

I'm not going to risk my soul and eternal heartache tonight because some desperado in the White House wants to drag me to damnation.

Step 1: Provoke your base for a year opposing health care.
Step 2: Lose health care battle.
Step 3: After base starts going violently, racially crazy, blame your black opponent.
Step 4: Prophet?

You mean like absolutely every other President, ever?

2010-03-26 11:29:54 AM
You're comparing apples to oranges with that pic aden_nak. Bush didn't let anybody into his town halls about Social Security that wasn't pre-screened and didn't agree with him.

The President should not be allowed outside of the White House, unless the taxpayers arrive and parade him around in a chariot at our whim. The taxpayers will not stand for a President presiding and popularizing populous pontification promoting pompous participation in predatory principles of pragmatic penalties for people with Parkinson's.

Obama is the sekrit Muslin Antichrist Socialist Fascist Authoritarian Totalitarian Liberal weak-willed tyrannical empty suit. It's possible for him to have two completely opposite attributes at the same time. It's quantum physics.
