male strip clubs? because they seem to get over-looked in cases like this.
2003-04-29 06:33:27 PM
Hey Hooters is a "family" resteraunt.

and i just wanted to mention: Fark Walmart! I'm going to Target!
2003-04-29 06:33:35 PM
You'd think in 2003, people would know better. Oh, wait...the article is about WAL-MART....never mind.
2003-04-29 06:36:25 PM
Wal-Mart doesn't need to know better. Hell, they could start setting their customers on fire as they left the place and would still rake in the cash.
2003-04-29 06:39:40 PM
And if they didn't have it a strip club y'all would be calling them a bunch of homos
2003-04-29 06:40:32 PM

Gepeto: Those grey borders suck. Started last evening. I'd like to know the reasoning for them. They compromise certain pshop entries. (look at the "nickel" pshop from the other day).

Wal-Mart: The US's largest provider of shiatty jobs. Mecca of crass commercialism. Destroyer of downtowns across the country. Fark 'em.

Bring 'em down, ladies. Bring 'em down. And then set them on fire.
2003-04-29 06:50:40 PM

Yep. It is also used when getting multiple records from a database. If a recordset is at the end of file, that means that all the records have been gone through.

At least, that is how ADO works

Now we can get back to the non-topic that is Wal-Mart manager asshattedness.
2003-04-29 07:26:14 PM
You know, if Wal-Mart tends to pay their male employees higher imagine what they must be getting paid. I know this because my aunt is a buyer with their home office in Bentonville, AR and makes over 300 thousand a year. shiate... really though, just imagine if she were male, could be up to 500 thousand a year.
2003-04-29 08:26:46 PM
This would explain why those greeters in the commercia;s are so damn happy.....

Wal-Mart, The same company that Banned a wrestling doll because the acessory "head" Was demaning to women. Now holding meetings at strip clubs.....

Perk of being a small business near a newly opening Wal-Mart in a big city?

Losing your business/job, source of income, pride, probably moving into a smaller house/apartment, supporting your family on minimal income.

Wal-Mart sucks.
2003-04-29 09:43:39 PM
That's worse than my work, we hold our staff meetings at Winghouse(local Hooters spin off, better food better women) every week, get sloshed on the clock and hit on the waitresses, best part is the company picks up the tab.
2003-04-29 09:45:48 PM
But, really.

So, I was in a Wal-Mart in Texas last month. Everything was dirt cheap (quart of Gatorade for 93 cents). Unfortunately, I supported them (I HAD to eat), but I knew somewhere, a Mexican had to die to make the prices so cheap.

On top of this...I'm glad the nearest Wal-Mart back home is about 7 miles away. [/liberal]
2003-04-29 09:51:21 PM
Yeah, I rather hate Wally*World myself, but it's so hard not to go there when you need a fix of Instant Lunch noodles and $5.88 DVDs at 1:30 AM. Damn them with their worldly temptations!
2003-04-29 10:04:37 PM
Wal Mart sucks.. blah blah blah.

If you don't like it, don't support them. I go there because they have everything and they're open 24 hours a day. I get my groceries at my store (Albertsons), my electronics online or at a Best Buy type store, etc. But when I need some new socks or some DVDs at 2:00 in the morning, I go to the local Wally World.
2003-04-29 10:16:31 PM
Yeah, I have to agree with you for the most part, Nolimitbodnar. Wal Mart does come quite in handy when it's late and you're in the mood for a dozen Instant Lunch noodles for $3.

I do try to support local businesses when I can, though. There are a number of times I won't go to Wal Mart simply because I know that on weekends they are PACKED! I'll try to pursue other avenues instead. That, and I try to support the ghetto supermarket since they carry my favoritest pop of all time--Faygo. (Seems like I've seen it at Wal Mart once or twice, but then again it could've been that smoke I cracked.)
2003-04-29 10:39:43 PM
Nolimitbodnar: Dosen't mallwart censor any DVD that offends American Family Values?

I know that their pharmacies are ordered not to prescribe emergency contaception...
2003-04-29 11:17:23 PM
FaygoMaster, we sell it every day at the Sam's Club I work at. We always call it the ghetto coke.
2003-04-29 11:38:26 PM
Thanks, Chickalicious, I forgot about that. My only problem is that they don't have the Diet Faygo. The day Sam's carries the 24 packs of Diet Faygo will be the day I get a membership.
2003-04-30 12:43:58 AM
Occam: I'm not aware of censoring DVDs, but for years they have been censoring CDs. I have not purchased a CD from there in three years.
2003-04-30 02:59:40 AM
I work at the Wal-Mart Corp. Finance Headquarters and damn near ALL the top money-makers are women. In fact, there are only about 6 guys in my dept., including me. I make a fairly nice salary and I have yet to meet a single lady that makes less than me!
2003-04-30 03:05:34 AM
You're right, they don't censor dvds, but they don't sell anything that could be "blantantly offensive" like pr0n, other than that they're pretty relaxed about the dvds they sell.

Well, goody for you. You are still going to take it hard for this, and it is deserved. Repeat after me. Your managers farked up. They took women to strip clubs for company meetings. Too bad if they were isolated. They happened. The company is responsible for their conduct and has to suffer the consequences of their stupidiy.
2003-04-30 10:03:59 AM
Yeah, it's CD's that they censor. I don't go there to buy CD's for myself. However, when acquiring music to play at local minor league baseball games where I work, it's actually very helpful.

And, for the record, their DVD selection sucks monkey-balls.
2003-04-30 09:51:48 PM
Eat me. "You are still going to take it hard for this, and it is deserved." What the hell are you talking about? Just because a couple of stupid farking idiots pulled that crap, why should the whole company be blamed? None of my supervisors would do that, especially because they're all women.

I know that nobody will probably read this, but most of the morons out there have already made up their minds anyway, and just like to demonize an entire company because of a few rotten eggs.
2003-04-30 10:07:06 PM
One last thing: When you join wal-mart the first thing they tell you about is the "open door policy" which means if you have ANY problems, you can go over the head of your boss all the way to the top to complain or say basically anything you want, WITHOUT FEAR OF RETRIBUTION. And don't tell me it can't be done because I know several people who've done it. If I had a boss who made me go to gay bars, I'd turn their ass in, especially with wal-mart they don't like scandals so the boss would fired immediately. Why didn't any of these dumbass people use the first thing you're told to do? "Gee my boss is abusing me but I'll just sit here and take it."
