A real Actor. Didn't need special effects and did all his own stunts.

I have a totally not-gay man-crush on Steve McQueen.

2010-03-24 10:25:39 AM
If they'd asked McQueen to play a pussy vampire that shimmers in sunlight and won't fark his girlfriend because that's wrong, he'd tell them to shove it up their ass.

Great. Now I know the approximate size of Steve McQueen's junk.

Those are awesome.

Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Bruce Lee. Talked the talk and walked the walk.

Exactly.
The word "cool" has become very overused. This guy personified it.

What kind of shooting position is that chick using in #3? "Precariously balanced elbows on a rock with the gun in my face"?

In Pic # 1 he is aiming at Ali.

The kind that says "you're gay" if you look at it and ask about proper shooting position

2010-03-24 11:13:46 AM
No one will ever be as cool as him.

Fun trivia: his son (Chad?) is in The Karate Kid. He's the Cobra Kai with the bad dye job who messes with Daniel right before the tournament starts.

Yes. I grew up with these guys on the big screen. Once Upon A Time In The West still remains as one of my favorite movies. Bullitt was great, and Coburn's tongue in cheek Flint stuff was good, too. And Lee's screen presence was riveting, of course. All good, a few gone too early.

Step 1 - Eliminate desire
Step 2 - Be Excellent
Step 3 - Retreat

Indeed.
The only 'recoil' that pic makes me wonder about is the butt bounce when slammed real hard.

Even his worst movie (Towering Inferno) was better than 90% of the films out today.

I dunno. The teaser did it for me. I like a little mystery.

Maybe little was the wrong word here. I hope

In the mid 90s I stopped at this POC 'antiques' store in southern Wisconsin. I was looking around and on the wall behind the register was a framed check from Steve McQueen.

The owner told me McQueen had been filming in Chicago and came by on a Saturday, just driving around, and bought a used blender for $10 and the shop owner kept the check.

And this:

Wrong on both counts but you get a point for 'sentiment'.

KingKauff: Even his worst movie (Towering Inferno) was better than 90% of the films out today.

I grew up watching nothing older than 1980s... My husband had me watch To Catch a Thief. Now I want to watch EVERYTHING from that era. So good!

Yes, I have no idea what you're talking about except that it's 'old movies'. Forgive me for what is probably only vaguely related. They're all old to me!

They don't make em like that anymore. My dad used to race dirt bikes as well and it was well known in the district 37 races that Steve was out there racing. Never did get to see him at a race.
