Guns don't kill people, robots kill people, and surprisingly well.

Okay, I just learned that you can trust a robot.

Terminator: [He grins] Trust me. [Uses a minigun on the police force, destroying vehicles and scaring off the police without causing a single casualty]

Asking Adam Savage his stance on weaponized robots is like asking Mel Gibson. They are just damned entertainers.

I'd trust a robot more then I'd trust a human.

Humans are just as prone to hardware and software failure, bugs and errors.

We've yet to create a robot that can hate or get mad.

When we create robots that think for themselves, I'm going to be very nice to them so that I'll be spared during the great robot uprising.

fluffy2097:

We just need a great speaker like JFK to inspire us.

"We choose to build a robot that can hate and get mad.

[applause]

We choose to go to build an angry hate-bot in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too.

It is for these reasons that I regard the decision last year to shift our efforts in angry hate-botics from low to high gear as among the most important decisions that will be made during my incumbency in the office of the Presidency.

Ask not what you can hate and get mad at for your country. Ask what robots can hate and get mad at for you!

My fellow Americans, we can build robots that hate and get mad. We can do it in our times, in this place! And we will prevail."

Pretty much my philosophy. I also think that humanoid sapient robots should be made out of cheap plastic, no taller than a child, and programmed to be as loyal as a dog.

I just hope they remember to design an "off" switch on the damned things. In the movies, that is always the problem- they design the super-duper robot monsters with no damned off switch.

It should be bright red, about the size of a dinner plate and located right on their chest, with a redundant one on their backs.

Then a decent, kind-hearted, but shy and unappreciated little league pitcher could save the world by throwing baseballs at the advancing robot army. He'd rescue the President, and then the cute girl from third period geography class would fall in love with him and we could have a decent, family-friendly after-school special, instead of all this Terminator: Salvation crap. I mean seriously, you were great in Batman, but let it go, dude. You can't be every hero! Without Arnold in it, the franchise should just die.

Also, have you noticed that candy bars get smaller every year?
That really hoses me. I understand inflation and all that, but darn it, an Abba-Zabba bar should stay the same size, just raise the price.

Also what's the deal with big shoes on girls? That looks weird.

Is there any jelly? They told me when I came here that I could have jelly, and they haven't given me any!

I guess these are as out-of-date as spats and wing collars but...

1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Maria is still the sexiest female robot ever. Look at that styling. Pity she spends most of the movie disguised as a human.

34. A sexbot must please its master, this takes precedence above all other robot rules.

Well the concern is less giving robots guns, we already do that, but in giving an AI the ability to analyze a situation, make the decision to kill someone, and actually pull the trigger.

That is not a simple task, and isn't something that should be taken lightly.
