Lost Thought 00: Most of these speeches would be more useful if they updated us on the NCAA scores.

Jim Bunning is just waking up in a pool of Big Blue spooge.

Uh, Nucleus? Assuming my own "white person can't tell black people apart" gene hasn't kicked in, and that is in fact Snoop Dogg, they both have.

MorrisBird: From the nephew on Friday:

When I checked the campaign voicemail last night, there was a message from a male with a southern accent (he didnt leave a name or phone number) who said in a threatening way that he wanted us to know that there is a hit team of snipers that are rated from a mile away and he understands they will be assassinating the children of Congressmen who vote for this bill. Then he hung up.

Unfortunately, this is going to be the last straw for a lot of the crazies on the Right. They've been whipped into such a frenzy; they're a loud, ignorant puddle of gasoline, and this bill is a giant lit match.

I remember the Clinton years and all of the crazy that came out of that, and in my opinion he didn't do anything that pissed-off the Far Right as much as the passsing of healthcare reform will.

Ah I'm sorry - I must have missed that.

I wouldn't worry too much. Stuff like this is all puff and bluster.

I need a t-shirt or denim jacket that says "I support HRC and I'm armed". Think it'll help?

I wonder who the one No vote is against naming this post office.

RON PAUL?!?

...I'll add that in my experience, most of these threatening whackjobs are total p*ssies who aren't going to do shiat beyond jerking-off while writing threatening emails.

But some of the committed ones will act, and it only takes a few.

/gee, I sound concerned

Has Rush left the country yet? Have the "majority" of the country that opposes the bill taken up arms yet? I'm too busy watching March Maddness and doing work.

WTF Indeed: Has Rush left the country yet? Have the "majority" of the country that opposes the bill taken up arms yet? I'm too busy watching March Maddness and doing work.

I think Rush said that he was going to leave the country for his medical care, not leave all the time.

I don't listen to him, heard it third-hand....could be wrong.

Via TPM:Appearing on Meet The Press, Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele distanced the party from the racist and anti-gay language that demonstrators hurled against Rep. John Lewis (D-MA) and Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA). "What you had out there yesterday were a handful of people who just got stupid and, and said very ignorant things," said Steele. "And neither party, I believe, are associated--or should be associated with that."

What an unmitigated farktard.

I think the GOP needs a new Pledge, one that does both.

This is going to be the greatest day ever. Have we firmed up the drinking rules yet?

2010-03-21 01:33:19 PM
I heard on NPR the other day that although this new bill will keep Insurance companies from denying actual policies to people, which is one of the main selling points of this bill by the democrats, that they are still free to deny treatments of anything they choose, whenever they want. So in the end, and this is an honest question, what makes this bill better?

And another thing. My sister and brother in law are really healthy, take care of themselves, and pay out of their pocket each year for a physical for each. It ends up being about 400 bucks per physical in the end after labs, but they don't have typical health insurance. They have cheap catastrophic health insurance with a high deductible, but no "regular" insurance. And they save tons of money and don't burden the system at all. Will their catastrophic insurance fulfill the mandate for purchase? If not, why? when they are being responsible, healthy adults, and buy very cheap tragedy insurance, why should they start having to pay more for normal health insurance? Again, maybe they won't. Someone who knows please answer these questions for me.

/sincere

HotWingConspiracy: You guys, a death panel just knocked on my door.

One method commonly spoken of by experts in this area is to graciously invite the, uh.. the death panel into your living room, and offer them a soda pop.. and maybe some Oreos and cookies.. just make them feel at home. And, uh.. that's the news. Uh.. stay tuned for something else. Wait! Stay tuned.. stay tuned for music.

Hender: "I don't honestly believe that anyone knows what's in the bill."

Well, you could try reading it, Donna.

If only there were entities that reported the "news" where you might read short summaries of what's in the bill... Or if only you had a group of people working for you -- let's make up a word -- hmm, how about "staff"? -- who could help you stay on top of the bill's contents as it evolves.

Maybe she could work on inventing these two groups so that the next time she votes on a bill that's been debated for a f*cking YEAR -- something that it is her JOB to know the contents of -- she'll be able to manage it.

That was priceless.

HE CAN'T NAME HIS farkING MEMBER OF CONGRESS.

2010-03-21 01:34:13 PM

"Do you know who your congressperson is?"

"Uh---uh---uh---"

"Nevermind. Next caller!"

2010-03-21 01:34:24 PM
"Did you speak with your Member of Congress?"

"Yes, I spoke to them, and they gave me their perspective.."

"Who is your Member of Congress?"

"Uh...um..."

Concern Fail.

It was actually a caller--sidenote, when did C-SPAN start taking calls?--who said that.
