Shatner's Bassoon: Anyone else picture Phil as being short fat and balding?

Yes.

I give credit to people who manage to get out of PA.

/no shortage of Pennsylvania jokes in her work, either, and none of them complimentary

Tina spends most of her time on screen looking thoroughly gorgeous in a low-cut blue cocktail dress and, in a scene that will delight her male fans, lip-moving or otherwise, does a pole dance with Carell while dressed in a beaded red corset.

Sold.

Meh , Fey is average even with a butt load of getting made up by the professionals...

2010-03-21 12:35:14 PM
Unquestionably, she is above par on your average woman, and she is likely very funny. However, sexy and smart, those words are a stretch.

OnmyojiOmn: Tina Fey is the sex symbol for people who think wearing glasses = SMRT. She's a great writer and a reasonably good actress, that's it. Is John Oliver the sex symbol for every smart woman? Do you see Aasif Mandvi as a nerdy intellectual because he writes good jokes?

/Looking forward to Aasif in The Last Airbender

She reads off a card. She wouldn't know anything if she wasn't reading it off a card.

I remember when Janeane Garofalo was the thinking man's sex symbol (then she stopped making good movies and became a one-dimensional celebrity political commentator).

I remember when Kari Byron was the thinking man's sex symbol (then all the nerds' short penile attention spans were like "waaaaagh Christina Hendricks has big tits!)

Well, she does.

This, plus, who likes staring a knife-scarred face when getting a bj anyway?

Yes. A yammering bitter female "comedian" who played a yammering bitter female comedian in a handful of interesting movies gives me a ranging boner.

Not a dig on you, just I don't see how anyone would have ever considered her to be a "nerds sex symbol" or whatever.

I think in some ways she was supposed to be proof that you didn't have to be that narrow image that Hollywood peddles as sexy to actually be sexy because she was smart. I'm not saying that she was (looking back, I think I saw her as smarter than she was because I identified with her, not because she had any kind of blistering intellect), but there was a time when she was at least confident that she didn't have to have model-perfect looks and even spoke out against that narrowness of view.

On the other end, I don't think Tina Fey is any great shakes as far as intelligence is concerned anyway. She's good looking, yeah, but I've never understood what makes her so much smarter than the average female comedian/comedic actress.

(And so much for pushing the idea of intellect: she's doing a pole-dance in her new movie. Way to raise the standards there, Tina.)

Has she considered plastic surgery for her knife scar? Or is it too far gone?

I think she's cute, but I'm not sure how different she is from Liz Lemon. Just slightly more self-aware. I 'd love to know how she went from chunky to THAT figure, as a 39 year-old, no less.

Meh, Id dont know about her being THE sex symbol, using the above pics as reference her attractiveness varies wildly. Sometimes good, sometimes very, very meh. There are many other famous women Id rate higher than her.

Your average female comedic actresses.

First off, Fey writes. Actresses say what others write for them to say.

So, there's that.

I like her and everything, but can someone please explain to me why she's considered the poster child of intelligence? Uh, yeah, she wears glasses, but that doesn't mean the level of humor coming out her mouth is all high-brow. Its just normal humor.... A dumbass would just as likely find her funny as a nerd would....

I think a Sarah Silverman is a smarter humor but since she's so crude and doesn't wear glasses, its taken for granted.

That article missed the point that a lot of Americans got to know Tina Fey on SNL. The Sarah Palin thing helped her but she was already set in a good career as a star writer/comedian.

BTW I remember reading somewhere that Tina Fey kicked the drugs out of SNL and was a much-feared, draconian headmistress in general. Never knew how true that was.

Tina Fey... would hit it.

I guess my penile attention span isn't so short. That's a relief.

Meh, that spare biatch is average. Av. Uh. Ridge. Glad so many of you twits fall for that.

Also, it's convenient how you forget as head writer she presided over the worst period of SNL and ran it into the ground that it's trying to recover from right now.

Want smart, funny and cute? Go watch Maria Bamford. What she may lack in makeup and tricky camera angles that Fey makes a living on, she actually brings the funny.

Why Tina Fey is the 'the sex symbol for every man who reads without moving his lips'

Unfortunately Tina Fey is a total prude. I read an interview with her once where it became clear she is still pissed at her husband for going to a strip club for a friends bachelor party well over a decade ago. A related excerpt was:

"I love to play strippers and to imitate them," says Fey. "I love using that idea for comedy, but the idea of actually going there? I feel like we all need to be better than that. That industry needs to die, by all of us being a little bit better than that."

elvindeath

The problem with smart chicks is that they are much harder to talk into anal.

Not true, in fact studies have shown that the more education a woman has the more likely she is to be sexually adventurous.

30 Rock is hilarious and she writes many of the episodes so yeah, I'd say she was smart.

She's written 12 of the 74 episodes by herself. 30rock is funny, but she gets way too much credit for the writing.
