Sounds like some crappy SCADA programming. Should have have added an auto-dialer to head of maintenance for high-high level indication or all pump status fail.

I suppose they stock the "lake".

That and I think Catfish are on the cusp of evolving into a land animal in the not too distant future and probably just chill in the mud until levels go back up.

This story reminds me of the "camper-incident of 83'" a couple of us teen buddies precipitated completely unintentionally.

It's a fairly common surname. It looks like it's an unfortunate coincidence.

I bet it was there, and disconnected by the owner. My record for fastest auto dialer disconnect was three hours - apparently the plant operators didn't enjoy being called every time a well kicked on/off, and took a wire clipper to the phone line... After it was re hooked, they simply turned off their phones beginning of shift. So supervision insisted they get added to the call list. A few nights of the general manager being called at 3am because a well kicked off as a plant did a backwash (normal), then kicked on 45 min later (normal), and they finally decided the darn thing should only bother anyone if there was a failure, or something major going on. Then the radio system started flaking out and they'd get 20 calls a shift about communications going in/out...

I have another customer who insists on a feeper alarm on every RTU panel, yet the very first thing they do once it's installed and tested...

What crappy lift station manages to lose all its pumps anyway? Bet one broke, so they ran on the others, then another broke...

Or they use Flygt pumps.
