As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.-Proverb

It's really simple logic. One can read the article and then using logic can deduce that a+b = c with pretty good accuracy. My thoughts concerning this article are based on this thinking. From the psychological perspective one must look at what background these dancers are coming from that cause them to enter the sexual entertainment business. A large percentage have histories of dysfunctional families, thrill seeking behavior, drug addiction, sexual addiction, etc. Florida does flip-flop a lot on issues such as this, especially the Hillsborough County Govt. There is an overabundance of leniency toward particular things while there are tight constraints on similar things. I'm less concerned with the prime audience of these exotic dancers and more concerned about the fact that none of them will have paid into the system through taxes so if they become ill and can no longer work then we have to pay in taxes to provide them with resources. If they lose their jobs, they cannot draw unemployment. If they get too old to dance they have a horrible resume that won't help them to find a good job. What I am concerned about is that society holds a callous attitude toward nude dancers, especially men who go to watch the women and really know nothing about these women, their families, their personal struggles, they only go to see meat to get off on. Trying to protect them is just enabling their lack of future or ability to live productive lives that could expand into something more. It shows a great deal of bias, gender bias, sexual bias and chauvinism. Men don't care what happens to those women if they are willing to turn the other way and not stand up for the womens rights. I'm flabbergasted that in 2010 women still have to live under the stereotyping. It also sends a message to the current young men to disrespect women and young women that they are walking meat.

6 Local Kids Rescued From Human Trafficking Operation

Undercover Operation Video http://www.fbi.gov/multimedia/ncmec_102708b/ncmec_102708b.htm

"TAMPA - One became a prostitute at age 12.

All six Tampa Bay teens rescued in a law enforcement operation last week worked prostitution hotspots such as Nebraska Avenue or were pimped on the Internet."

My thoughts - Tampa has too many loose ends where law is concerned. They let too much slide and that's why we have the FBI in our back yard. It starts with the little things like this Mobile pimp wagon and stretches out from there.

I remember back in January the folks in charge of this thing announced that they were going to take the Skank Tank (thanks subby, that name works!) all over the country. Including the upper Midwest. In winter.

They also bragged that they were going to take it to Portland, Oregon, where they claimed that the local laws are so lax that they could have the women be shown naked. Anyone know whatever happened to that?

Not sure if you are trolling or not, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are not.

For starters, quite a few strippers willing do it. You yourself hit on one type (thrill seekers). Some are simply exhibitionists. Others love the cast. And some are a combination of the above. A fair number of strippers are very strong willed and are not there because they are somehow deficient in some way (such as drug addiction of mental issues), and some of them get a thrill out of using the men. Yes. They know full well that if they shake their can that the men will literally throw money at them. In that situation those men are being used by the woman. While there are many examples of exploitation of the women by men that is not always the case.

As for not being able to collect unemployment, that is true of many people who are self-employed or contract out their work. Within the theater industry in many of the smaller theaters the norm is for stage hands and electricians to be hired on a show by show basis. They get no benefits from the theater and if they want insurance they have to pay for it themselves. Even when the workers have an exclusive agreement with a theater there is no job security. If the theater decides to not hire them any more there is no unemployment.

As for health insurance, there are many jobs in this day and age that do not provide insurance for employees.

As for going to see meat and get off, have you ever heard of male strippers? While not has popular as female strippers, the male stripper industry is huge in this country! There you will see hoards of women who hold a callous attitude toward nude dancers, especially women who go to watch the men and really know nothing about these men, their families, their personal struggles, they only go to see meat to get off on.

Bottom line is that no matter what the reason in this day and age strippers make a conscious decision to strip. They have a choice to go work at McDonalds or waitress at some diner or do anything else. But, they CHOOSE to strip. No one is forcing them to strip. You might be a prude and be offended by the ideal of sexual liberty, I do not know, but I am flabbergasted that in 2010 we still have to deal with puritanical prudery in this country! You do not like stripping. We get it. You see it as being exploitative. And in some cases it is. But there are many exploitative jobs out there, and not just over a woman's body. Teenagers are exploited by fast food restaurants. Illegal immigrants are exploited by restaurants. Young college graduates with financial degrees are exploited by the big trading houses and financial exchanges in the financial centers of the world. Flight attendants are exploited by the airlines. Just remember that because YOU believe that sexual openness and liberation of women is exploitative does not automatically make it so.

glad to be of assistance. Obviously I live in jersey (we've got one in a park in south jersey, thats what started my research into it) but my family lives in Florida. So one day we've visiting and we're at Sonic next door, and I'm like "no way... that can't be a Futuro House..." So I walk across the street and I say to my wife "Hey hon! Thats a house that I've researched for my website. I think I wanna check it out! In ... the strip club... I wanna ... go... check out the Futuro House... I SWEAR! It has nothing to do with the strippers! See that weird UFO in the back? That's a Futuro... um... I'm not going in there am I? ... ... No? Yeah, ok, maybe I'll just research it on the interweb...."
