I've got high hopes. Ten was brilliant. Nine was brilliant.

For that matter, Five was pretty damned emo, for the time, and he was brilliant too. All* of them have been good and enjoyable in their own way.

They've been saying he'd be emo and awful when we just had a picture of him, not even, it turned out, in his Doctor costume. They've been saying he'd be emo and awful when we had only seen him for a few seconds at the end of the last season, where he was entirely goofy. It's not really surprising they're saying he's emo and awful now.

Also, I await to see Mr. Smith's performance. Here's hoping that Moffat takes a slightly darker look at the character since I find it to be more fitting. And a bit more mysterious.

Not sure where the Emo is coming from, from that trailer. I'm not seeing it. Not a huge Dr. Who fan here (I like it, but not enough to watch it regularly, though I was quite happy with Torchwood. Didn't hurt that the first episode I saw had Spike and Captain Jack violently make out. That almost had me going to mark an X next to the nearest Conservative name in a ballot box.) but this looks at least as decent as the last two series.

The sixth Doctor Big Finish audios are great. His Doctor just needed some better writing and time to settle in.

/loved the Klein trilogy of 7 they just finished.

So combining about two minutes at the very end of The End of Time II episode, plus another two to three minutes of trailers and we have a grand total of about five minutes tops of Matt Smith as the eleventh Doctor. So saying that the man is going to be emo and awful based on these five minutes is....pretty dumb.

But hey subby if you want to bail on Doctor Who based on those five minutes, then go right ahead. As the old saying goes, it seems the only exercise you get is jumping to conclusions.

If NBC were to pick this show up. It's starting fresh with a new Doctor, and Stephen Farking Moffatt is taking over as the head writer. If an American network were ever to start airing Doctor Who, this new season would be the best place to start.

I hope this will be good. I loved Ten. I started watching Dr Who with him playing the lead. Ten is my Doctor. But hey these things happen and really this is most brilliant thing I've ever seen, writing a change of actor into the cannon of a show.

So here's to hoping eleven will do well and Tennant will go on to be hugely sucessful in other things.

I love Moffat as a writer (yes, he's had a little miss, but a helluv a lot more hits, and he didn't give us Rose Tyler and the Never Ending Romance), so I'll look forward to it. Really just an hour or two after the airing in the UK for torrent sites.

Moffat wrote the best episodes of the new series as well as the series Jekyl I have no worries that it will not be amazing. He's getting Neil Gaiman to write an episode. I wish Tennant had stayed on for one more year to ease the transition but it's going to be brilliant.

Ok, just finished the pilot. Definately some steampunk elements. Not a bad little show, but I do hate to think that my impossible dreams turn into ferrets.
