What's the difference between a weasel and a stoat?

A weasel is weasely identified, and a stoat is stoatally different.

oldebayer: I don't know, but I'm a-runnin' away from it.

Why? Granted, it would be really weird. But it's not like Jet Li is a genuine tough guy.

Jet Li is a very, very accomplished martial artists in real life. Of course he looks like he weighs about a buck O five, but still...

After the mink story, is the weasel trifecta now in play?

Anybody got any Senator Dodd links to complete it?

Yeah he trained for a few years and won a national forms competition or something like that. He went into acting afterwards.

Yes, he did really well in forms competition. He's not a fighter, which is the point I was making. I doubt he's ever been in anything serious resembling a fight. And why the one silver? Why not 16 golds? It's not like they had any good competition anyway.

Most people don't know what "Forms" means. It's nothing more than a pretty demonstration of proper technique. A dance, if you will.

I like the yawning baboon with the six-inch fangs better.

/To do well at kata, you had better be a good fighter.

The BBC's Life series was really amazing, it's 10 parts and may be available on the internet in high quality through use of tornadoes. Really, it's impressive. Check it out.

Don't worry, we all know you could totally take him in a no-holds barred fight, genuine tough guy.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I only fight when it matters, though. He'd have to be doing something bad to get my attention. And I don't mean one of his movies.

While he mostly knows internal martial arts, he has studied some of the relevant fighting forms.

FTFA: On Sunday, March 21, the Discovery Channel premieres its docuseries Life, narrated by Oprah Winfrey and produced by the team that made the Emmy-winning Planet Earth.

Seriously, what the fark? Do yourselves a favour and find the original version with David Attenborough narrating.

Why the hell American television has to fark around and change the narrator on these things escapes me.

DammitIForgotMyLogin: Why the hell American television has to fark around and change the narrator on these things escapes me.

I have an aunt who thinks British accents are snooty. Oddly, she doesn't complain about half the commercials nowadays being voiced by Brits, or Brit wannabes.

2010-03-20 05:18:46 PM
I saw the promos. I was totally excited about the amazing locations, cool animals, and top-notch photography. And then I saw who was narrating it.

WTF? Why do you hate Americans, Discovery?

Seriously, Attenborough is an entertaining narrator and an amazing guy (rent "Life on Air"). I can understand that he's not as well-known over here, and they are probably worried that people will dismiss the old foreign guy--but we're doing that with these stupid actors! Sigourney Weaver, Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet--they don't understand or care about the amterial, so they just read the lines. It comes off as bland or condescending. I'll watch it, but I'll be cringing at Oprah the whole time.

oldebayer: DammitIForgotMyLogin:

It's quite deliberate--they teach them how to do that in school, but they usually only use it around Americans. Mocking us is a national sport, I think.

/Marrying an Englishman
//(No, he's not posh. At all. But he does confuse my mom.)
///Really, really hoping Attenborough's on the DVD version.
