(The Daily Show) Amusing Jon Stewart does his best Glenn Beck impersonation, somehow linking Jesus to the Ayatollah and both of them to Bert. The last one wasn't that much of a stretch   (thedailyshow.com) divider line 205

Bert is evil.

It's only March, but I think Jon Stewart just put a lock on an Emmy for 2010.

2010-03-19 01:38:02 PM
Wow, that was impressive. I think the Bert stuff at the end softened the absolutely cutting stuff before it, though. Don't pull back like that, Jon.

Gotta add this show to the Tivo again...

I've never watched more than 2 seconds of Glenn Beck. Does he really act like Jon Stewart was portraying? Because that honestly scared me.

That was the first thing I said to the SO.

Which is funny, because usually liberals ARE strong, weepy men.

Glen Beck is better with the fake crying, but otherwise, yes.

They've been on a roll this week. Almost makes me want to forgive the number of random breaks they have been taking. . .course, I guess they need to make up leave time from the election year.

The Daily Show is pound for pound more informative when it comes to politics headlines than all major cable news channels combined.

Queue the mouth breathers that pretend to be objective when they just hate to be called out by the Daily Show...

2010-03-19 01:44:27 PM
Surprised he didn't go all the way like Glen Beck would, and point out that:

Bert is Hitler,

Lying Aryan Bert Worshipers would say Heil Burt!

So 2000 Conservative Libertarians = Halliburton

Yes it was, but the flamefest is like a wildfire. It can't be contained.

Last night's Glen Beck segment was awesome, because the reasoning of connecting Jesus to the Ayatollah is the exact logic Beck uses throughout his show, day in and day out.

Also, Beck clearly would have shown that Bert was the devil due to his gay lover, Ernie.

I chose that word carefully. He's very good at what he does.

As much as I loved that Stewart's other Beck impersonations, you have to realize that all this (negative)attention is why Glenn Beck is so popular.

I seriously doubt Beck believes a word he says, but he knows it gets him attention and ratings, so he doesn't stop.

I like watching Glenn Beck when he is outing political farkwits inside our congress/political machine. I hate his commentary. You can usually tell what kind of show its going to be in the first minute or two, and find something on netflix if its a whiny "i love god, you should too, hitler hitler nazi nazi" show.

/he hasnt had a good show in a few months.

Egalitarian: I've never watched more than 2 seconds of Glenn Beck. Does he really act like Jon Stewart was portraying? Because that honestly scared me.

Actually, I stomached 15 minutes of Glenn Beck and I can safely say that Jon Stewart's portrayal is actually pretty tame.

Or troll-y; anytime there's a one sentence statement about "liberals" or "conservatives" there's a 50/50 chance.

/because those terms have not been so widely overused and maligned as to have lost any cogent meaning, really...

casdawg87: //thinking about changing because Beck and Limbaugh tell me I'm not wanted since I am not an idiot and support the senate bill.

I lol'd. You really have to be an idiot to support any 2000+ page bill like that. There are some good provisions in it, but it is buried beneath the buy offs and kick backs they needed to make to get the thing past in the first place. The only end result of the bill is that the insurance industry will get another 30 million costumers on the tax payers' dime, and a lot of special interests will get paid.

In all honesty, it seems like so much more of a Republican bill anyway, what with the epic subsidies to various industries and the deficit exploding long term costs hidden with transparent accounting shenanigans.

I'm sure Beck Rush would have had a massive boner for it if W had proposed the same thing.

Dude's more informative than the history channel the past couple months.

Oh, you mean Stewart?

Stewart is a comedic commentator by his often repeated admission. He's raised the bar over Chevy Chase who was the previous best at it. He's good for laughs. Beck got dissed by a decent comedian, oh what a crushing event in history this is.

Really, mods? Not only do we need a Daily Show thread every day, not only do we need every clip from the Daily Show made into a thread every day, but we need the same clip made into multiple threads in the same day?

Do we have a new Fark meme?
Quote:

Breakdown:
%Claim how much you like Jon Stewart, The Daily Show, Stephen Colbert, or the Colbert Report%%comma%%Claim you watched this click and found it bad/pathetic/lame/trying to hard/%Insert "bad" adjective here%% %Summary sentence on how you know how to do comedy better%

Do I get a prize?
