i was just petting a 'high-conent' last week. Some dude owns a wildlife preserve company and was walking it around on a leash... It was probably the most lovable canine i've ever come into contact with.

I think I read about this on a news aggregating website. Did this one take place in Alaska?

This death was so senseless.

Lets just get this out of the way:

-She was hit by a car. Wolves do not hunt people.
-There is no way to know if these were the wolves that allegedly did it. Alaska is too big a place.
-It was a serial killer who used the wolves to hide the evidence.
-Alaskans are all a bunch of gun-totin Palin worshipers who can't muster the brains to even track a wolf, let alone chase them down with a helicopter.

What'd I miss?

Hmm looks like I either should have previewed or not used auto correct for spelling.

I like it better this way though.

FTFA: they matched witnesses' descriptions of the animals seen near Berner's body

What I imagine the witness descriptions sounded like: "Yeah, they were 2 wolves." Perfect match.

FTFA -- Authorities in Alaska...

So I think so and as I recall there were wolf tracks as well as human tracks... hmmmmmmmmmm, 2 random humans perhaps???

Isn't using a helicopter a little bit of an overkill?

2010-03-18 05:45:01 PM
Do you know whose fault this is? Sarah Palin's!

Because she authorized the hunting of wolves by helicopter. Must be her fault.

2010-03-18 05:45:02 PM
Wolves are territorial. Those territories are pretty big. If wolves killed her, and these wolves are from the general are of the attack, then they probably got the right wolves.

I love it when I hear stories about scary animals taking down humans. A story about someone getting bit by a venomous snake or spider does nothing for me but I really like it when a tiger eats someone in India or wolves kill someone. Especially if the humans are hunted first.

It's cool.

They took dna (saliva) samples from the body of the woman. They will now match (or not) those samples to the dead wolves. The wolves fit the description of the two wolves hanging around the village for the last couple of weeks - one light, one dark.

So, they're going to track down the exact wolves? Is there a DNA database for criminal wolves?

...they matched witnesses' descriptions of the animals seen near Berner's body, Butler said.

"Yeah - like dogs, only with more attitude..."
