That's nothing, they also can listen in to your cell phone even when a call is not active, intercept sms messages, turn on the camera, read your email, hack into your computer, all in the name of "freedom and security"

Hello Big Brother!

Is that why every time I get a background investigation done, I start getting spammed with friend requests by girls in swimsuits?

Hello Big Brother!

They still have a warrant to do that, unless you step over the border into Canada, or the person you are talking to does. Then it is the NSA, not the FBI. But if you are in Canada, the NSA is the least of your problems.

A friend of mine sent a pic of the Olympic flame when he was in Vancouver last month and it took 24 hours to come through to my phone. creepy.

Well the problem is, the same methods they use are copied by criminal organizations. You would be surprised how easy it is to get a warrant

I've been turning down requests featuring a single picture of a hot chick. I've friended one before, and it seems nobody posting on their wall knew who the fark they were. I can only assume it was an agent from some country's government.

Yes but just so I can get more Cafe neighbors. I always "hide" them on my wall since I don't have anything to talk to them about.

I get much amusement out of every criminal caught due to their facebook/twitter bragging. I have no problem with this. When you put out information in public..its public.

When you make 'friends' with people you can't really see, or meet, and decide to trust them with details that can send you to jail..you are stupid.

Barney: Or that telemarketing scam you pulled?
Homer: Uh... like those, but involving you!

I was expecting a story about probation officers signing up as friends on their clients Facebook accounts as a means of keeping track of them, and to let others know that the person is on probation.

Or for law enforcement officers to blatantly sign up on suspects Facebook accounts to mess with them.

Law enforcement going undercover online is so common I wouldn't have thought it would be worthy of an article, let alone a four page article.

You would never get the public to agree to a forced data base of who knows who but you can make it fun.... all the other people on that dudes list are now being watched I bet. Need more fake accounts --- could be a fun game DEA/FBI trolling
