People who are bad drivers are the ones who wreck when drunk. They could barely drive in the first place.

People who are average drivers are downgraded to bad drivers and are likely to wreck when drunk, as they aren't used to being bad drivers.

People who are good drivers are just average drivers when drunk. Or if totally wasted, bad drivers.

And it is important to define what makes someone a good driver. It's not the fact that they have never received a traffic citation, b/c usually quite the opposite is true. Folks with many moving violations are usually so pissed off that grandma won't step on the gas and turn off her blinker that they rampage around all the time. Rampaging around all the time gives them lots of practice at maneuvering their vehicle, and increases their skill level. Driving in this manner is of course an advertisement to police that you are willing to pay tickets, and they will oblige. And you'd better pay, or they'll wreck your life.

This another good reason why I want my husband to drive when we go somewhere together. When he isn't with me and I have to drive, I just keep thinking to myself that I should get home as soon as possible to make him and the kids some sammies because the sooner I'm off the road, the safer everyone else on the roads are and the happier my family is now that I'm home to make them their delicious sammies.
