Catherine, darling, you're lovely and a fine actress, but you can't possibly hope to come out well when your performance is compared to Kathleen Turner's.

And in case anyone wants evidence, I need only point to Intolerable Cruelty.

When you get outacted by a pair of rottweilers, it's time to hang it up.

What? OK. FINE! I'll give up acting.

Everyone's a farkin' critic.

Something about that woman irks me. I think it's the undying air of self-aggrandizement and arrogance that follows her around. I'd find her attractive but every time i read an article about her it just.. eugh.

2010-03-15 08:28:04 PM
Whenever I see her, I think about buying mobile phones. And that horribly experience makes me want to throw up.

This. Sat through that tripe multiple times now on friends insisting it's so great.

Lies. All lies!

She's at the age where her sex drive is still probably in high gear, while he's at the age where he can throw out his back if he thrusts too vigorously. I'll bet the pool boy looks forward to his weekly visits to the Douglas house.

That was a very disturbing movie, even though it was supposed to be a comedy.

Oh yeah, and it sucked also.

2010-03-15 09:10:02 PM
1. War of the Roses sucked to begin with.

2. Catherine Zeta-Jones is boring and her career is slower than stalled. She probably can't even open a movie anymore.

3. Michael Douglas is too old to play a convincing family guy with a midlife crisis now - he's 65 freaking years old. That's not midlife, that's playing shuffleboard on the Senior's Cruise. And he's creepy in everything he does.

In short, dream on ego-lady

Nothing I like better than celebrity couples circlejerking in a movie made for their actual relationship.

A recent blind item in a gossip column was resolved by the seemingly knowledgeable guessers like this: Catherine Zeta-Jones is 50, not 40. Great genes and not such a creepy marriage. Food for thought.

I laughed at the Foley effect when Danny DeVito lit a really old cigarette... And for me that's the only memorable part of the movie. It doesn't need to be redone.

Jesus, nobody can have a casual conversation about something they're not at all serious about anymore.

I really liked "War of the Roses." A remake would be like a bag of ass but reheated in a toaster oven.

I saw War Of The Roses with my future ex-wife, before she was even my girlfriend.

Gavin: Is there any other way?

So did I. I can understand someone not liking it, but seething hatred is hardly justified.

Are remakes like a Hollywood couple version of renewing your vows?

2010-03-16 12:24:55 AM
Since he was in the first one this would make it like a sequel where he somehow survived and remarried.

Can we at least mandate that Hollywood be prohibited from remaking a movie until everyone in the original is dead?

I can see a new reality show in this...HOLLYWOOD HITMEN

Uzzah: *sigh*...

When this scene was on screen in the theater, ALL the males (and I'm sure some of the females) let out a collective moan. Who could blame them?

But then you'd eliminate that cutesy moment of casting one of the stars of the original in a "subtle" cameo.

Oh, yeah, that's no big loss. Never mind.

I went to see War Of The Roses with my wife when it came out in the theaters.

When the lights came up at the end we looked at each other and said, "Oh shiat."

She's been my ex-wife since 1991.

Now come on, very rare is that a movie title so aptly describes both the story and experience you'll have watching it.

Hey as long as she dresses real sexy I don't care who else is in the movie! She is totally a sexy woman with great tits and ass and I don't know how many times she has been voted as one of the sexiest women on the planet!
