This was one of those albums you didn't have to buy because it was played endlessly on the radio, and walking down any dorm hallway would guarantee you'd hear it coming out of at least two rooms.

If I'm not mistaken, it was a deejay in Roanoke, Va., who first started to play that B side song. ...

If that would have happened today, Clear Channel probably would have fired him for not playing a song on their focus group-approved playlist.

Yeah, right. Like any band making music like this would get played at all on commercial radio today.

THIS so much.

They went from being completely badass rock and roll, to cheesy adult contemporary.

Why the hell did they let that douche in the band in the first place?

Few songs besides Hotel California make me as queasy as does this farking song. That is, at least prerecorded-sample-constructed rock era (e.g. Nickelback, Maroon 5), all of that shiat just makes my brain try to escape through my nose.

Is this their last "hit" prior to their MacDonaldization?

As much as you and I both think they maxed out their suckage account after that, it didn't seem to hurt their success.

She comes in colors everywhere

Um, gender of violinist?

I reckon that would be John McFee. Pretty interesting career he's had, actually.

The Michael McDonald Doobie Brothers are not the real Doobie Brothers. He ruined that group. Ugh.

Isn't it interesting that you can't spell MacDonaldization and Bastardization without using 'ization'?

Snip the list out

I love when people posts lists like this. It just proves that the music on the radio has generally always sucked and this romanticized vision people have of music being better "in their day" is bullshiat. There is new music you like being created every day. Look for it and you will find it.

I'm leaning more towards "neuterization." Him, along with the cheesy synth parts, did the trick.

Other than Lady Marmalade (and very very small doses of Snookeroo) this list proves that even disco was an improvement.
