Alright, I'm happy. I half expected this to be about pseudo-emo Gaslight Anthem and true emo My Chemical Romance or some shiat, but they got Ted and Titus, so that's not all that bad.

For those of you who like hating on Jersey music because we regrettably gave you Jovi, I will remind you:

- Funkadelic
- Misfits
- Tom Verlaine
- Blues Traveler
- 1/2 of Stone Temple Pilots
- Spin Doctors
- Railroad Earth
- Sinatra
- Frankie Valli
- Kool and the Gang
- Yo La Tengo
- Count Basie
- Naughty by Nature
- it is where Dylan stayed by Guthrie's bedside, and led to the Mermaid Avenue Albums as well as being Dylan's main inspiration to make music

Sorry it's the hippie in me. Same for RRE. NJ was huge for the jam band scene through the 80s and early 90s

Check out Emanual and the Fear. Relatively new ensemble that plays some very interesting music.

Also, 1/2 of Phish

Any article talking about NJ punk that mentions Gaslight Anthem but does not include the Bouncing Souls is quite weak.

+1

If you want the perfect song about NJ that is a love/hate relationship, I would go with Less than Jakes "Never going back to New Jersey" (even though they are from Florida).

If there were a family tree of music, they would fall directly beneath Bright Eyes

Saw Ted Leo/Pharmacists last Friday. He's one of those guys I do not miss when he's in town. The new album is terrific and to sum up the New Jersey-ness they finished the encore with a blistering cover of The Misfits "Angelfark".

Jamdug!: If there were a family tree of music, they would fall directly beneath Bright Eyes

Qualify it more: It's Bright Eyes with Balls and if Conor wasn't such a whiney biatch.

Saw ted leo about 4 years ago. No setlist, he just played whatever songs we shouted out to him. Only a 10 dollar show too.
