Full court? Are you on the team, subs?

Relatively Obscure: Full court? Are you on the team, subs?

He rides the bus, that's for sure.

Even the original title says half court shot...

The headband guy clearly has it goin' on in basketball land. Even before his half-court shot, he got that first rebound, saved the ball from going out of bounds, recovered his own loose ball, got the put-back shot, and then hauled ass back on defense. Then, he got another offensive board and scored again. That's good basketball at any level. And THEN he hit his half-court shot. Awesome.

if that doesnt warm your heart you just suck

Where's the double dribble call on the first guy??

nhdjoseywales: if that doesnt warm your heart you just suck

All that cheering, attention, and positivity, it makes you wonder how many of them think they're going to get laid afterwards only to come to the realization that people cheer because they pity them and no poontang will be had.

The chasm between reality and their 'reality' when it comes to sporting events and other activities is still very wide, unless there is a whore with no morals involved.

Where to begin? Clip needs editing so that what you get is the shot itself and not all the double dribbling and everything else in the two minutes leading up to the shot. Find someone else at the event who has a better clip framing the shooter, tracking the arc of the ball and then it twinking the twine. As it is, it's a scrum at mid court, a shot of the rafters and the ball going through the basket.

Not only that, but he played team ball, too. When he was guarded underneath, he bounce-passed to a teammate (who missed the shot that he put back in)

Maybe the Celtics should hire him to replace Ray Allen.

j/k Jesus, you know you're the Man.

Is that headline referencing something I'm not getting?

Psshh, Obama could have done that.

Say what you want, but any one of them still has a higher free throw percentage than that mouth breather Shaq.

2010-03-14 12:16:53 PM
With all the double-dribbling and carrying I saw, I thought this WAS a video of the NBA. Then I realized that these guys were way too smart for that.

2010-03-14 12:24:21 PM
Very cool.

2010-03-14 12:28:18 PM
Pretty amazing...but couldn't they have gotten someone who isn't "differently abled" to film it?

2010-03-14 12:29:06 PM
huntley: Where's the double dribble call on the first guy??

That was a pretty blatant double dribble as well as some traveling. What the hell are the refs watching?

Also, would it kill them to play some defense? Let's go guys, man up. And don't get me started on the pathetic display of rebounding.

2010-03-14 12:36:50 PM
Geez, they are giving the saying "white men can't jump" more cred.

2010-03-14 12:52:59 PM
Good for him. Someone should take him to the zoo as a reward.

2010-03-14 12:57:50 PM
The only thing "special" about those Olympics are the athletes, families, organizers, moments, fans, and memories.

Apparently autism enhances your basketball skills. We need to be getting these kids on the court at an early age, white men can ball!

Take note Jenny McCarthy!

2010-03-14 02:31:33 PM
WTF is with that horribly-designed mascot dragging him around the court after the shot?

2010-03-14 02:35:27 PM
God that was retarded.

2010-03-14 02:41:22 PM
Some of those guys are pretty good at basketball, considering of course that God was so bad to their DNA.

2010-03-14 02:41:25 PM
Terrible waste of time. My heart is just as cold as before. The guy that made the shot wasn't near 'special' enough as shown by his earlier antics of playing really good bball. Either that, or short dude is clearly too special as displayed by his double dribble and airball follow by the "it's alright! it's alright [inaudible]!"

/he did have awesome hair though

2010-03-14 03:29:15 PM
Looked like they were winning by quite a bit. Why is this guy chucking up half court buzzer beaters? That's just poor sportsmanship... running up the score on a team of tards. I hope he feels good about himself.

2010-03-14 03:30:30 PM
I was expecting a full court shot. I got the last two minutes of a WNBA game.

2010-03-14 03:33:29 PM
it's like watching the internet in slow-motion

What the fark, they don't call traveling anymore?

Yeah, I'm still waiting for someone to explain it to me.

And-1 > Harlem Globetrotters > Retardball > NBA

I do have to say though... The handicapped are pretty fierce at sports. My older brother is a 'tard and is trying out for some sort of Special Olympic bowling team. He consistently can bowl a 220 and I can't even break 100. And I think I have shot a basketball once in my life so I am sure the people in the video can school me. My strategy would be to punch them in the nose and make them cry and take the foul.

funniest part is at 0:40 when the lady in the blue shirt goes for the high five and gets denied

I'm never sure what to think of special athletes and things like this. Of course we're trying to make disabled people feel important and welcome and apart of society by supporting them and appreciating them and giving them good memories and warm love and high self-esteem so they can live long, happy lives, but it always feels like pandering to me. And if it's done excessively, a little bit condescending and patronizing. But I'm sure they don't see it this way.

btw: You think this is good, this is nothing compared to the legend of Jason McElwain. Jason was an autistic senior who loved basketball and was put on his highschool team for feel-good reasons, but obviously rode the pine all season. Finally, in a late season game in which they were up by a lot and it was all but over, coach decides to sub in Jason in the last 2 minutes, give him some fan service.

He sinks 6 three pointers and 20 points in a row in the final buck thirty. Became a national sensation, got to meet Bush and everything. Unreal.

2010-03-14 04:38:32 PM
It is totally pandering, Ishkur, but that is what we've come to do. My brother can beat me at bowling but I could absolutely whip his ass at Madden but I let him win and I act all frustrated about it. It's just what people do. I hate people and I do it. I don't give a shiat about your (not YOU you) baby but I will dangle something shiny if it keeps it entertained.

I would rather we channel the money we spend on the Special Olympics in to more programs like http://www.pathwaysmaine.com/
where the challenged are allowed to work in a comfortable environment, produce something, be proud of something and lead a normal life. Alas, it is probably going to be shut down because there isn't enough work for them/my brother.

Fake. Too many crackers on the court to be real.

/they still play better than I do.
