This is why it's good I am not a judge. Just the accusation of that kind of recklessness with a child makes me want to throw the book at SOMEBODY.

Classy.

Wait.

"and what appeared to be cocaine laid out in the passenger seat"

"faces two felony charges: possession of a controlled substance"

"In the passenger seat, they found a white powder on top of a wooden box"

"waiting for the results of lab tests to identify the substance."

So first they found what appeared to be cocaine, then he's facing drug charges, then it's just an unknown white powder, then they admit they have no idea what it is.

Why not - Test first, accuse & charge after?

Just seems a bit premature...

tobey: Why not - Test first, accuse & charge after?

A good cop can just dip his finger in it, taste it, and will know right there whether it is cocaine or not.

Everything you ever need to know is on the TV.

Unconstitutional traffic stops could have prevented this tragedy.

The article said the powder was "laid out" in the passenger seat on a wooden box. I'm sure it was pretty clear what it was, especially with the credit card and the rolled up bill sitting there. The lab test is a legal formality unless maybe he decided to cut up lines of powdered sugar and then pass out drunk in his car just to fark with the cops.

There's someone who knows the guy going to his defense in the comments over there. Heh.

If you're going to act like a child, you have to teach your kids to take care of you while they're young. Amateur.

Sadly the man didn't have enough time to snort his cocaine and passed out at the wheel.

Remember kids, coke first, then the beer.

He should have shared, kids these days love Coke

I'd be happy to conduct the testing for them.

Seems like a pretty light set of charges...

So if after testing it turns out to be just mephedrone then no charges? Gotta love legal drugs...
