What's the problem? He's a cop. From the sound of it, the woman was probably trying to proposition others/solicit herself and the cop was trying to do his duty by telling her to get off the streets and to try to better her life, she is worth more than this, etc. From there it's easy to see how she could become aggressive when faced with the reality of her situation, from the mouth of a peace officer, no less. Why it had to get out of hand like it did, nobody may know, but this is an Officer of the Law who has already served for several years...sad that she provoked him. Hopefully this will be resolved soon for the good of everyone...

If a cop did this I have to assume she deserved it. Lucky to be breathing if you ask me.

Wait, you mean that he assaulted her and spit on her, and she WASN'T arrested for somehow "resisting arrest?"

I'm shocked. Shocked!

"Battery by bodily fluids."

Didn't watch Cops in time for the breastmilk thread, but there it is for the spitters among us.

At least, in whichever state they were filming in that day.

Another fine officer being railroaded by unscrupulous politicians trying to make a name for themselves.

That officer is a hero.

Why do videos like this always leave words on the screen for an exorbitantly long time? He jokes at the audience being bored already, but that is the reason why. Do they assume everyone reads at a 2nd grade level?

Her: "Get lost, you farking pig!"
*unbuckles belts, jumps outta car*
Him: "HEY BIATCH, SUCK MAH DICK!!!"
*punch, punch, hawk, spit*

Oops...somebody watching?

Later...

"I don't know what came over me, Sarge. It's like when I lost my legs in 'Nam, ya know."

"Shut the fark up, you retard! You're reassigned to meter maid duty until your uncle can kick this under the rug. In the meantime stay the fark outta my sight!"

I guess it's a good thing no one was there to stop him or else they would've been arrested, too?

Wait, so the woman arrested the police officer because she assaulted him? Or the assault arrested the woman for policing the spit? I'm confused.

Police work for the government, if I have learned anything in the last decade its that the government can never ever do anything wrong, ever. As such it must be 100% the ladys fault.

Police officer on woman arrested for assaulting, spitting at bus stop?

"The officer exchanged words with the woman, who was sitting at the bus stop, and who authorities said he had never met. Reed then got out of his car, grabbed her, pushed her to ground and spit on her face, police said."

I've got 10 bucks that says the cop tried to pick her up, she rejected him, he got pissed, he spat on her.

Thanks, never seen that. Anyhow, my feelings on police officers waver.

First is the distrust, disgust and anger at some of the shiat they pull. The day of the friendly policeman on the street corner is long-gone. Cops today are far more paramilitary and tend to isolate themselves from the citizens they supposedly serve by locking themselves in their cruisers all day. They tend to treat the public with contempt. They look for loopholes to violate the rights that they should be interested in upholding.

On the other hand, I work very closely with police officers, and even have one or two I consider close friends. I work in some tough neighborhoods, and it's nice to have guys nearby that can crack some heads if things get out of control.

I know that the cops' number one responsibility in my city is to make sure that the bullshiat in the projects and the low-rent neighborhoods doesn't cross a certain line. This is a cynical outlook, but it's kind of a good thing. The violence, drugs, prostitution, homeless drunks, vandalism is never going to get completely fixed in the shiat neighborhoods. But if the cops can keep the mess out of the South End, where there are some major taxpayers, it's a good thing (at least from a municipal employee's point of view).

Amazing. Honest cops arrest a fellow officer when he steps out of line and most of you farkers still turn this into an anti-cop thread.

It's not like they showed up at the scene and planted a gun on the woman. Those cops were protecting and serving their community by arresting their own, one of the hardest and most taboo instances an officer can face. I commend all of them.

I'm guessing somebody there had a video camera, or there'd have been a lot of "he said she said" and not an immediate arrest. Unless the guy is so unhinged that the cops who arrived on the scene could see it from the git-go. Given the circumstances described, I wouldn't discount that scenario either.

I burn ten times the calories worry about some dude with issues and a badge then I do the supposed bad guys.

If they've lost the trust of someone as boring as me, they seriously need to get their act together.

A bus stop was arrested for spitting a police officer at a woman.

Note to Americans - in the past tense, the verb "to spit" becomes "spat".

Given the fact that the police (wrongly) believe that it is illegal to photograph or film them (and often rough up, arrest, or otherwise harass folks who do) how long until it becomes equally problematic and dangerous to even report on cops breaking the law?

These guys tried it and oftentimes found themselves beaten, arrested or threatened for even wishing to file a complaint against an officer . . . .

Only video on there that isn't as bad as it looks is the cop knocking over the guy on the bike... That guy was actually committing a crime at the time, as was every other single cyclist on that road (running red light, failing to stop for a pedestrian on the road in the same or adjacent lane). That was an unofficial event so they had no official bike route, and no legal right to violate any traffic laws..... However, the officers actions were still horribly wrong, just not 'QUITE' as wrong as they seem on first viewing.

Rest of that video is sickening.
