Who?

Interesting. I hope this doesn't effect their upcoming tour. I've got tickets and need to see Needing/Getting live so I can die happy.

Anyway, good for OK Go. It seems they were constantly at odds with EMI regarding their video content.

I prefer the first version of that video, in the field with the band.

Also, don't forget OK GO's Invincible (new window) which is about all sorts of things exploding in slow motion.

"This video contains content from EMI. It is no longer available in your country."

You know what really sucks about that? I live in a US territory, but most of the Internet hasn't bothered to recognize IPs of the smaller territories as coming from part of the US.

/Try linking from a different site, most of the other ones work fine

There are all the videos on OK Go's website. Maybe they'll work there?

That's no surprise. Their fights with EMI have been playing out in the press over the last year or so. And EMI's a sinking ship at this point. All it has left is some control over the Beatles catalog (which the Beatles are suing them over), some control over Pink Floyd (which Pink FLoyd is suing them over) and a massive commitment to Robbie William, who they promised to break in America but didn't.

The only reason I can think of that OK Go even signed a major record deal was that they got signed about six months before it became clear that the who major label system was undergoing a very slow collapse.

/saw them play at the Fire here in Philly in 2001 or 2002, before their first album came out
//still love them

I dunno...I looked at the other videos - yeah, pretty cool - and it makes me wonder if these guys are using their songs as video delivery systems.

Without the videos the music is/can be fairly generic, although 'This To ...' is a little different.

I don't think they make the big bucks off producing videos for Youtube... unless that scene from Southpark is right.

None of the songs have anything to do with the video, except for their first video, Get Over It (new window). They're all just strange expressions of creativity to accompany the songs.

It's more that the performance of the song is important to them, whether it's live or in a video.

I think it's more the opposite: The video is intentionally made to go viral as a vechile for their songs.

Is "embedded" a joke?

Gangway Fathead: Is "embedded" a joke?

Yeah. It refers to the controversy over one of their recent music videos. EMI made them disable the "embed" feature on YouTube because they only get royalties when people view the video on YouTube, not when it's embedded on another site.

eddievercetti: No one can tell that pic's a Shop?

/Hint: Superimpose the "real" bird on the "bird" in the sign.
//You can tell by the pixels.

Also
, what would be the use of a "No Birds" sign? Would birds read it and move elsewhere?
