I've felt anxiety when being on an OLD bridge. But new bridges really don't bother me.

I totally can't stand the feeling of a knife sinking into my neck, it's just the worst thing. I go out of my way to avoid it, and it's ruining my life.

When I was a kid I was afraid of being in a car driving on a bridge. Then it went away. A couple of years ago I walked across Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. The next year I couldn't do it.

You are, of course, absolutely correct, in a clinical sense. I think a fluff piece on Fox News, however, probably meant "phobia" in a more colloquial sense.

That being said, I am freaked the fark out by MIDGETS. Can't stand being near them or even looking at them. No offense to anyone, it's an uncontrollable compulsion.
