Do they have an exhibit that explains the importance of hearts, stars, horse shoes, clovers, blue moons, pots of gold, rainbows, and red balloons?

Guy #1: Umm, there will at some point be leprechauns, in your leprechaun Museum? Correct?

What else is a third-world country with nothing to show for itself going to put in a museum? Potatoes? Booze? Car bombs?

Irrelevant, you'll never catch them.

Darby O'Gill and the Little People

Loved that movie.

"It is a derogatory symbol from an Irish perspective,"

Say what?

There was this girl I knew. Had a massive crush on her. She was beautiful; like a classic 50's pinup beauty. We used to hang out & whatnot, and try as I might, she wouldn't 'give it up' for me. until one day we were so bored, we actually watched Darby O'Gill & The Little People. When we needed a distraction from that terrible movie, we started gettin' it on.

Thank you, Darby O'Gill for the hotness.

Would you like your heritage to be represented by a cackling little annoyance that jumps up and down on the sidelines of a Notre Dame game? It's as bad as the old Chief Illiniwek dance that Illinois used to put on (and I don't know why the NCAA hasn't cracked down on it yet).

You are absolutely correct. However, all the other Guinn-ites won't allow themselves to believe it.

I'm Irish and as soon as I find out where this place is I'll be heading there. I'll be going via the head shop obviously.

actually I don't drink much, don't go to bars, and usually find that observing Lent interferes with merry-making on st. patrick's day, because I'm a boring person.

And to tell you the truth I don't actually know if it's 1/8th or 1/4th: I've got an irish name but I don't know if Grandpa was all irish or if he was half german.

I do find it funny, though, that my kids will also have an irish surname when they're going to be so thoroughly polish/german

That's cool. I didn't mean any offence. I believe the more influences from different backgrounds and experiences the more kids benefit.

My paddy post was based on cleverscreenname77's pic
