I didn't buy it because Blixa Bargeld wasn't on it.

I didn't know it was out.
I'll buy it.

Actually, I think it's because, even as a big fan of lots of these artists, it wasn't a very good single.

Yeah, I just listened to it.
McGowan in particular just needs to hang it up.

Who, who, who, who, and who?

If it doesn't say Screamin' Jay Hawkins on the label, it's at best a poor imitation.

Assuming it's a remake of that song. I have no idea and youtube didn't either.

Well duh.

If it isn't sung by Screamin' Jay Hawkins, it's pretty much worthless.

Ah, it *is* on youtube, but not the first shiats. I didn't see any voodoo. I did see a bunch of crackers with no soul murdering the song.

I'd kind of like to hear just Nick Cave do it.

I am a big believer in giving credit where it is due. If the girl sang and her vocals were used, yes, she should indeed get the credit. I may be very old school in my music choices, and I am; plus I may not like the typical pop-pap smears going on today, I can't agree at all with not giving the girl credit if she participated.

Link (new window) Listen and the fact that the lack of publicity and the quality will show you why it isn't selling. I even like Shane and wouldn't buy this

Hmm... as much as I side with Gillespie on this, a charity single is not the time for a principled stand on how you don't like where popular music is headed.

And if you don't like that, then don't make crappy charity singles. Simple as that.

CCR's version is pretty good too.

Even the original can't compare to Bryan Ferry's version.
(Seriously, try to compare them.)

Isn't that the song the witches sing in the movie Hocus Pocus?

I prefer Marilyn Mansons version.

wow.
i thought Shane had teeth now, guess not.
Johnny Depp's solo sounded pretty cool though.

Oh I don't know. (new window)

It has a different feel than the original, but it grew on me. Then again,
I'm a big Bryan Ferry fan.

I've already got the Bad Seeds doing it. I don't need an ensemble cast.

Is there any way I could contribute $100 to them for leaving her name off it?

Yah, the entire Taxi album was like that for me... love it now, but when I first heard it? Meh.
