On a more serious note: they probably did this without even realizing that it was a black barbie doll they were discounting. Things like this at wal-mart are all automated.

It's interesting that in that last sentence, they make it sound negative that "nearly half" of the kids thought the white doll was prettier. Wait, "nearly half"? So more than half thought the black doll was prettier, yes? So why did they have to make it sound like that was a bad thing?

The black Barbie, in my experience, was more trouble than it's worth. I purchased one for my daughter in Christmas of '08 and already I have 3 illegitimate black barbie babies to take care of all to different black Kens who are nowhere to be found I might add.

I mean, they scream all the time about how we all should be treated the same, which is fine, but then they stir up crap like this.

I don't, for one second (even though I'm not a fan of China-Mart), think this was done out of hate. They had a product that wasn't selling, so they sold it cheaper. This happens all the time, and it's a legit business move.

But no, the media has to have a story, so they report on it, and suggest it has some nefarious motive behind it.

Part of what creates inequality is bringing attention to it when it's not needed, IMO. Take a scenario where someone is really pissed off, but some time has gone by and they are on the verge of forgetting....and then some moron comes along and yells, "remember that thing you were all pissed off about..blah blah".

Or maybe I'm just a moron.
