mainstreet62: Join the Yankees or Mets. Problem solved.

The Yankees don't need an often injured .260 average, high K guy again.

Booing isn't an issue to Philadelphians...

If we don't like you we ignore you. :D

Pat..hire me. A mere 2k a month and i'll heckle the living hell out of you with the full hate you miss but with more frustration being a mets fan.

He was very overrated but came up big in the WS, so you gotta give him that.

Unless someone is dressed as Santa, then you form an abomination consisting of snow, batteries, pennies, and beer, and throw it at him.

I miss watching Burrell walk fast towards the ball.

He took out a full page add to thank the fans when he left, so he must have liked Philly even though he got booed a lot. Maybe he just misses the long trail of torn blouses he left across Old City and Rittenhouse.

Over-rated
Under-achieving

The Rays would have been, and will be, better off without him.

Keep it up Pat and they'll be writing articles in Durham about how much you miss Tampa Bay and the major leagues.

Who overrated him? He was the man in college -- that's a fact. His pro career wasn't very good (especially the year he hit .209; I think that was in 2003), but he was a decent power guy. I would love to have him back on the Phils, but in more of a platoon capacity (this would work perfectly, since Ibanez was pretty worthless for the second half of last year, and it probably had to do with his inability to get ample rest for his injury).

Additionally, Burrell never really got booed in Philadelphia. He was a fan-favorite here, even during the stretches when he seemed completely inept at the plate.

He'd have to pay extra for a Mets fan. That man hit a ton of homers at Shea.

It was further evidence that the Phillies have become one of those special teams that can draw a crowd any time, any place. Rays play less than 20 miles away.

/Couldn't get tickets.
//Got drunk at BW3 instead.

I wouldn't necessarily say he came up big. He had 1 hit. Granted, that hit led to the series winning run.

And I think the only ones who overrated him were the Phillies by giving him that monster contract. But coming off the JD Drew fiasco I guess I couldn't blame them.

He was popular in Philly and didn't hear the boo birds too often. But he really dropped off as a player once he left the Phillies. As a player though who in the majors would actually prefer to play in or watch a game in that garage that houses the Rays? Its by far the worst park in baseball.

Agreed: If you don't get booed in Philly, you're doing something wrong.
