She'll get over it.

"I am no longer such a carefree person, I am no longer the same Emmanuelle," Seigner said.

She needs to blame her husband for that. I don't know how they do it in Europe, but in America if you drug and rape a 13 year old, the charge isn't going to just go away, even after 30 years.

TFA: Polanski, 76, is under house arrest in his Swiss chalet

Best kiddy diddler incarceration ever!

Your husband raped a child.

You shared a bed with him.

What does that say about you?

2010-03-08 11:48:00 AM
She should have the children removed from her custody, as she was allowing them to live with a convicted child rapist who fled his sentence.

I still don't understand this case. If the US has an extradition treaty with France, what is there to fight? Why didn't they ship him out 32 years ago?

It's always hard when your heroes get knocked off their pedostals.

THIS!

Jesus, I've lost all respect for the retarded celebrities that publicly supported Polanski. I don't care if you're the greatest rocket surgeon billionaire superman in the galaxy, if you drug and rape a kid you deserve the worst punishment available.

Because he's a French citizen. France, Germany, Austria, China, Japan and Russia have laws forbidding them from extraditing their own citizens.

Roman Polanski's wife said her husband's imprisonment ... has diminished her carefree spirit and terrified and disoriented the couple's two children.
...
Seigner said that she and the children do not live with Polanski in Gstaad but visit as often as they can.

LOL WHUT?

The children are terrified that the guy they see "as often as they can" isn't available to see them and their "carefree" mother.

Those kids should be taken away just because being a starf**king golddigger is no way to go through life.

2010-03-08 02:33:29 PM
Are the children old enough for Polanski to have sex with, or does he draw the line at incest?

2010-03-08 02:34:00 PM
Anyone else notice that his wife would have been 8 years old when this happened? He hasn't changed his stripes very much, considering the age gap between them...

I'd interview those kids to see what else might have been going on!

Boo - farkin' hoo

Polanski is a dumbass, he shouldve bitten the bullet back in the 70s and done a couple of years, instead of having this thing haunt him (and his victim) for years and years

and she plays the "kid" card: he's 76 and shes in her fourties, are old are those kids anyways?

This. Her husband is not the victim. She knew of this conviction and his confession but chose to live with him. She is not a victim either.

/Only in Hollywood would they stick up for such scum.

Yeah, that's why you make a plea with the DA...which he did. There's a difference between letting him get off scott free and welching on an agreement just to get yourself some extra publicity.

You sound like a PTA mom just waiting to go "extra hysterical" over something. God knows the world needs more of that!

I'm no Polanski fan but having a younger wife is not illegal. I'm sure you can Google when they got married, do the math, and adjust your hysteria accordingly.

I would tolerate all the political fall out if we had some kind of special operation to drag his ass back to US for jail.

Doesn't the United States allow extradition?

This is ridiculous. Really, folks, it's not like it was rape-rape. Overly ambitious wannabe teenage model, that's it. Let's not forget that she doesn't want this to continue. Lots and lots of people who've known the man for years have vouched for him too, sheesh.

He is not in France. He is in Switzerland where he was arrested by Swiss authorities. He is held up in his private chateau as his extradition case winds through the Swiss court system.

You didn't elaborate. Let me be more clear:

- Are you implying that someone has called the US arrogant in a hypocritical fashion?
- Who is this "they" who calls the US arrogant? (with citations)
- On what basis did "they" do so?
- How are they being hypocritical?

Show your work.

My mistake I thought the Swiss let him go home. So long as they are processing this in court I'm cool with waiting for them to allow justice to work. It was nice of them to even try in the first place.

Yeah, I didn't even really try that hard. But I'm burning backup DVDs and bored, so here we are.
