Swiss steak?

Woof.

It must be pretty boring over there.

I notice they say nothing about rats, which are VERY social animals, and far more intelligent than budgies or goldfish, and are at least on the same level as pigs.

good.
This whole thing was absurd.
I only read the headline, though. I hope I didn't miss any important details.

The lawyers would get all the steak anyway.

FTFA: Switzerland already has some of the strictest animal welfare legislation in the world.

Pigs, budgies, goldfish and other social animals cannot be kept alone; ...

Throw in a python to keep them company.

... horses and cows must have regular exercise outside in summer and winter; ...

But feel free to keep them in your aparment during the spring and fall.

... and dog owners have to take training courses to learn how to care for their pets.

In Korea it's cooking classes.

Nothing
is on the same level as pigs. Bacon trumps all.

And that's why the fundie neokkons are responsible for 9/11.

Selling all that tainted MeowMixtm finally came back to bite them in the ass.

Just curious. How much does falling milk normally cost?

I wish "we don't need anymore laws, we already have enough" was an argument that worked in California.

Just the price is falling, not the milk.

\But if it was it would depend on the quality of the hooker.

mantrum: Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs.

It's a group of sennenhunds. They're not all GSMDs.

The fluffy one should be obvious as a Bernese. The one on the right appears to be a GSMD, but fairly small for the breed.

The others are either Appenzeller or Entlebucher or both. I dunno much about them so I can't tell. You can tell the difference between them and GSMDs by the fact that they're smaller and have a more triangular shape between the ears and head.

Don't you have to be at the gym in 26 minutes?

Having lived in switzerland (CH) for almost 5 years, with a dog, I will agree that it is one of the most strict in terms of ownership, but it's got a hell of a lot of perks.

- because nearly all dogs are VERY well trained and behaved, there are no leash laws. You can walk your dog without a leash. and many do.
- dogs are allowed in busses, trains, restaurants, hotel rooms and most shops, except grocery stores and bakeries. There are little tie-posts attached to the building to tie up your dogs.
- if your dog gets hit by a car (when not on a leash), you owe the car owner for damages. Happened to us with a puppy (leash wasn't working, she ran a half mile to stand in the middle of a road). Owner waived the damages and sent us a "sorry" card.

But the measure was rejected by around 70% of voters in a referendum.

Only 70%?

That's a very high percentage. Remember, even for a "Vote yes to get kicked in the balls" poll you'll find 25% to agree.

That's what you get for letting women vote.
