DamnYankees: Watching this clip from D9 makes me so sad that Copley didn't get nominated. He was unbelievable.

No shiat. That guy knocked it out of the park. Looking forward to seeing him do more stuff in the future. Even though he wasn't nominated tonight, you can tell from that performance that it's just a matter of time.

Lost Thought 00: Yay, spoiling movies if people haven't seen them yet!

If you were so concerned about not being spoiled about movies that were nominated for an award last year, you might have seen it by now.

DamnYankees: PeriRies: Hate on, but I just did not get District 9 at all.

You fail at life.

Somebody go screencap T-Bone's wiki page before it gets fixed.

"In 2009, Burnett collaborated on music for the movie Crazy Heart, winning a Golden Globe and receiving an Academy Award for the song "The Weary Kind" that he composed with Ryan Bingham. And he won this shiat motherfarkaaaa."

vonschiller: Lost Thought 00: Yay, spoiling movies if people haven't seen them yet!

Okay, D9 came out in the summer and got a wide release. If it were something recent and obscure, maybe I could see you getting upset. But... come on, man.

I watched all of the best picture nominated movies yesterday. I had only seen Up prior to that. I'd have been kind of upset if I hadn't seen them.

My problem with all these trailers is that at least half of the movies aren't yet on DVD.

I absolutely hate going to a movie theater. Get annoyed with all the people talking, munchiing, slurping, etc.

Nice shout-out by Alec to Tina

2010-03-07 09:12:35 PM
Damn Tina Fey is pretty hot.

Tina Fey! Yum.

2010-03-07 09:12:52 PM
I have no idea what RDJ is doing right now...but I'm liking it.

2010-03-07 09:13:14 PM
Good god will Tina Fey give the 80's that hair back? Yeek.

dumbandilikeit: My problem with all these trailers is that at least half of the movies aren't yet on DVD.

A lot of them are out already. I watched Basterds a month ago and I've I've got D9 at home right now.

What the hell is up with RD Jr?

2010-03-07 09:13:44 PM
Mocking the writers. Done by the writers. Nice.:)

2010-03-07 09:13:48 PM
This is great!

2010-03-07 09:13:52 PM
If RDJ wasn't famously sober, I'd swear he was high.

2010-03-07 09:14:03 PM

2010-03-07 09:14:08 PM
Sickly little mole people. Awesome.

2010-03-07 09:14:28 PM
Ok, Tarantino *has* to win this.

I mean, he has to. This was a brilliant screenplay.

2010-03-07 09:14:42 PM
IB should win for best script.

It won't, but it should.

2010-03-07 09:15:00 PM
FARK!!.... I still can't believe "(500) Days of Summer" wasn't even noticed by the old twats. Best movie I saw all year and amazing perfomance by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. It deserved at least and original screenplay nomination.

2010-03-07 09:15:07 PM
I saw a Serious Man and didn't understand it one bit. Must be cause I'm not Jewish.

2010-03-07 09:15:08 PM
Serious Man.

That was a very weird movie.

Also, that was a rather hot, but awkward scene.

2010-03-07 09:15:24 PM
I may have to see A Serious Man now.

2010-03-07 09:15:26 PM
Tina's looking naughty in that dress.

/naughty Tina

2010-03-07 09:15:28 PM
Original screenplay: three war movies.

"Oblige him."

One of the best lines ever.

Two observations:

Colin Firth is yummy.

Tina and Robert are funny together.

It should have been nominated for screeplay and editing.

And the winner is...not Tarantino. Damnit.

2010-03-07 09:16:14 PM
Okay, I think I'll go see the Hurt Locker, although reviews have been mixed.

2010-03-07 09:16:14 PM
because good is dumb: I saw a Serious Man and didn't understand it one bit. Must be cause I'm not Jewish.

Did you get the opening 10 minute scene in it??? I still have no clue what that was about.

/haven't heard of many who've seen it

All the best films nominated, apart from AVATAR is out on dvd. The Hurt Locker has been out for a long time now.

2010-03-07 09:16:30 PM
That means Avatar wins best picture?

Apparently not.

Didn't he win for Pulp Fiction?

The most overrated movie of the year wins its first Oscar, but, unfortunately, probably not its last.

Mike Honcho: "Oblige him."

One of the best lines ever.

I need to give 80% of the credit for that one to Pitt. PERFECT delivery of what could otherwise be a throwaway line. So often, actors smooth out lines, when in real life people often have really exaggerated pronunciations and we put huge accents on small syllables. Pitt nailed.

Dwight_Yeast: Didn't he win for Pulp Fiction?

Yes. But that shouldn't mean he should only win once.
