Here's some of what I was doing while I was gone...From the cat's perspective, this post is on topic, because he was stuck in a cage from SFO to Kailua-Kona.



Whew! I'm back home in California, and what a week! Let me first extend a big Head Bump, Leg Rub and Elevator Tail rub to Quantum_Jellyroll for being my relay person last week during the tsunami evacuation. I couldn't connect a computer, and although it is technically possible to view and post to Caturday via an iPhone, it's dog-ass slow, and I needed to save battery. Voice calls weren't connecting, but text and email was working for some reason. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Q_J, I just couldn't leave my Caturday buddies hanging. I still don't know what happened to the whale that got stuck in Hilo Bay, but I see on KimJ's map that we have a lurker in Honolulu--care to come out and report??

Next, thanks to in2it for the surfer caption, and Lar Jorgen for the flying rescue caption! Those were above and beyond. Also, thanks to jaynleng, sherpa18, spinnyr, Pineapples, slightly_damaged. Llois, mousiebelle, cooperdakat, valnt9, spinach gunk, doomsdayaardvark and sllink1 for sending your good vibes in a post. Hope i got you all. Thanks too, to those who sent good vibes without posting. I felt the love.

I didn't get to read Caturday until this morning, (Thursday) and here we are ready to start a new one! spinach gunk, I hope you can buy keyboards in bulk, because with any more captions like your "cougar weiner," you are going to owing them to everyone. Spinnyr, I got your Battle of New Orleans reference loud and clear. That song started my lifelong love of oddball lyrics. In2it, I LOVED the Buffalo Springfield mewsic video. I really appreciate the amount of work it takes, because I have done a few myself. This brings me to my next topic--the promise I made before I left 3 weeks ago to work on a new mewsic video for you when I returned. I promised a TF to the person who suggested the song that I used. I got exactly one suggestion, (Billy Joel's My Life, thank you ferfer72!) I like Billy Joel, but one song is hardly a reasonable sample size, and besides, ferfer72 already has TF. Also, in2it's on a roll, and I don't want to mess that up! So I will spend a couple of days rattling my brain, and see if anything falls out. If not, then I'll have one ready next week.

It's good to be back, even if I did have to leave Paradise to do it!

Way back in the 70's I rescued a cat stuck in a can. I was driving to work in pre-dawn San Francisco, and just barely missed a creature moving very strangely. Luckily, I was in a quiet neighborhood, and I could pull over. When I realized what it was, I crept up to it, and believe me, it was as strange feeling to have stealth advantage over a cat! Once freed, its first action was to jump about 12 feet in the air, and it was gone in a flash.

Is Gabe the travelling kitty yours? Or were you transporting him for someone else? (He looks like how I'd feel too after 5 hours in economy class, poor dude.)

GranoblasticMan: Not to be a downer or anything, but wasn't this same story already posted?

Sort of, I think, but a) it was a story about the can cat finding its way to the shelter whereas this one is a story about it being ready to be adopted from the shelter a few weeks later; and b) it went to the main page mid-week, not on a Sat/Caturday. Maybe that's just different enough? I dunno.

This week's article does have nicer photos of the cat though, so I'm not complaining. :) Happy Caturday.
