STEVEN King proved over the Easter weekend he's just as weird as some of his stories.

Who's fact-checker at that joint?
2003-04-23 04:57:17 AM
wow, borg. and i thought that steven king's books were creepy....
2003-04-23 07:47:21 AM
If I had King's money, I'd buy the damn rabbit too. Maybe even a chocolate Elmer Fuud to go with it.
2003-04-23 09:17:57 AM
Steven king has died. He has secretly been dead for 5 years now. No one knows where the books keep coming from.

That is all.

I gave him my baby and he bit 'im in the head!

I stayed at that hotel. It's nice and brand new but we couldn't get our car to leave because they got it stuck in the car elevator. That sucked.

Well.. someone has to be the Simpsons geek in a thread.

Eps Like Tupoc? Except Tupoc is actually hiding out somewhere. I swear he's more productive when he's "dead" than alive.

mmmmmmm, chocolate bunny.
2003-04-23 09:22:32 AM
Obligatory Family Guy reference: Brian runs over a man.

Brian: My God, aren't you Stephen King?

Pedestrian: No, I'm Dean Koontz.

Brian gets back into the car and backs over Dean Koontz again.

Does that bunny looks strangely like the grinch.

Or is it just me...
2003-04-23 09:24:42 AM
Damn you Hogans, you owe Uncle Sam a new monitor, coffee everywhere. I just got the DVD's and that has to be one of the funniest episodes in the set!

Nicu8697, I couldn't tell you which episode was the best. They're all far too addictive; I spent the last week watching 4 or 5 episodes a night. I don't think they missed any topic.

My monkey looked at me funny once. So I spanked it.
It was a bad monkey.

Henchman nailed it.

My claim to fame: I once had a six foot tall stuffed rabbit. Remember Zips sneakers? I won him in a contest they had back in the late 70's. There were only six of them, and one of them was stuffed with cash (not mine). As it turns out, six foot tall, purple stuffed rabbits make excellent recliner chairs.

EXCELLENT use of the Obvious tag.

2003-04-23 09:35:57 AM
Isn't Stephen King loosing his vision? Maybe he thought it was looking at him wierd but it was just really minding its own business :)
2003-04-23 09:36:19 AM
He based "Buick 8", on an old buick he saw in a run down gas station he stopped to check out. He slipped and almost fell in a creek. This was all the inspiration he needed for 300 pages of million dollar writing.
2003-04-23 09:42:57 AM
Being a writer of fanfic, I've heard of "plot bunnies", but this is farking ridiculous.

Nice use of the obvious tag.
2003-04-23 09:46:14 AM
Yes, he is loosing his vision and it's kind of freaking him out. He claims he can't write if he can't read (for inspiration).

And he was also inspired to write The Shining after seeing an old firehose at a hotel in Estes Park Colorado. The man can pull freaky tales out of just about anything -- god bless him.

"You a married man are ya Grady?"
Weren't you once the caretaker here?
2003-04-23 09:53:43 AM
And the first thing he did was eat out the bunny's eyes, its horrible staring eyes, so it could never look at him again.
2003-04-23 09:54:14 AM
"Anybody home?"

Poor Scatman....

If a 4 foot chocolate rabbit will help him finiah the Dark Tower series, then I'll buy the damn thing for him.
2003-04-23 10:01:20 AM
Come 'ere sweetheart. . . I'm not gonna hurt cha. . . I'm just wanna bash your farkin' head in.

2003-04-23 10:02:19 AM
Ouizel: King has completed Dark Tower! The 5th book will be released this September. The final two will be released next year. has all the details. :)
2003-04-23 10:05:19 AM
Ha, found it. Now, the non-butchered version for you to enjoy. Tank you veddy much.

"Darling! Light of my life! I'm not gonna hurt you. You didn't let me finish my sentence. I said, I'm not gonna hurt ya. I'm just gonna bash your brains in. I'm gonna bash 'em right the fark in!"

Other Family Guy Stephen Kind Reference:

Editor: What do you got for me?

SK:(looks around desk, sees lamp) It's a horror story about...a lamp (picks up lamp and starts waving it around). A killer lamp and a...stapler (does same with stapler). WOOOHOOOOO

Editor: you're not even trying anymore, are you?

SK: Can I have my check now?

Editor: Sure.

come down here and float with us, Georgie...
2003-04-23 10:14:33 AM

Weird man! That movie is sitting on my desk as we speak. Good movie.
2003-04-23 10:25:04 AM
Yeah, right, Stephen King is going to retire from writing. I don't think so. There's a chocolate bunny in my future and it's going to scare the crap out of me. I can't wait!

There's a story about The Dark Tower series that Stephen King tells: In his fan mail, some one sent him a picture of a teddy bear all chained up and blindfolded. In cut-out newspaper words, someone had written release the next dark tower book or the bear dies .

heh heh heh.
2003-04-23 10:45:53 AM
Well, it is a pretty creepy lookin' bunny.

2003-04-23 10:47:38 AM
If Stanley Kubrick were still around and saw the bunny... he'd do something entirely different with it.

By the by, who prefers "The Shining" mini-series to the movie?

For some reason this made me think of Billy Madison...

Ouizel: The Dark Tower books are finished, according to King. The next one will be out sometime in November, i hear. The other books (two or three more - can't remember exactly) just need to be polished a bit more by King and his publisher and they'll be ready too.

i can't wait either. ;)
2003-04-23 12:00:26 PM
Great. King is going to write a book about a chocolate bunny. At least it will be as interesting as his latest endevours.

2003-04-23 12:10:50 PM
$1000 for a chocolate bunny? damn it better taste good.
2003-04-23 12:11:24 PM
Stephen King only THINKS he's retiring after the Dark Tower series is out. If he really thinks he's packing it in, I'm afraid I may just have to kidnap his ass, chain it to a bed, and make him write books for me. If he thinks that van accident was misery, wait until I hobble his ankles. Dirty bird.
2003-04-23 12:28:33 PM
Everyone knows that for years King's just been sketching outlines and getting grad students to flesh them out. The first time I really noticed it was in Gerald's Game.
2003-04-23 12:28:53 PM
I don't read much STephen King, but how can a guy who writes that much just stop? Can you just become "wrote out" finally?

I remember an old SNL skit where they were trying to interview Stephen King, who was complaining of writer's block, but the whole time he talked he was typing about 100 words a minute.

I can't believe this thread has gone this long and not one mention of HARVEY!!!

Well, maybe Harvey's African cousin.

Lavern: "This is my cousin from Italy!"

Squiggy: "He's dark, Lavern."

Lavern: "He's from...Southern Italy!"

Squiggy: "He's VERY dark, Lavern."
2003-04-23 12:50:17 PM
When I was in Maine visiting grad schools the first thing that our ride drove us past was King's house - it looks just like you would expect and I suspect that rabbit will fit in just fine.
