There is absolutely nothing bad about Psylocke's costume.

I agree. But that Superman Returns costume....well, not everyone can look good in spandex, amirite Mr. USA Bob Sled team pilot?

A bit Marvel heavy.

No Black Manta?
No Blue Beetle?
No Martian Manhunter (Giant Capes!)?
and, lastly, No Booster Gold?!?!?!?!

It would be a shorter list, if they talked about the most practical costumes in comic books.

2010-03-02 03:10:12 PM
Most female costumes on big-name heroes/villains are horribly impractical for anything not involving a pole.

The Whizzer was pretty terrible. It's an old joke, but true. Why name yourself the Whizzer and have a yellow costume?

2010-03-02 03:17:03 PM
I've been absent from the world of comic books for a long time, so I can't think of any examples... but I'm certain they could have found much worse costumes than the ones they listed. The Invisible Woman costume was pretty awful, though.

Nothing about Havok's costume ever struck me as particularly silly.. but then I never had a problem with the yellow & blue Wolverine outfit, either.

DC character costumes are almost all ridiculous. It'd be redundant to point it out.

Given how badly Den of Geek failed on its article on video game costumes, I don't see the point of bothering to read this. So I won't.

Marvel's always had the worst costumes overall, anyway.

The Shocker isn't in there? Sue Storm's outfit, though...uh...minimalistic, isn't crap. The Shocker looks like he made his costume from his Binky.

I like Wolverine's blue/gold outfit. It looks good and fits in with the X-Men's general costume theme of the early 90s.

I like Psylocke's costume for a whole different set of reasons I won't get into here.

Now this is ridiculous.

Seriously, ragging on Aqua-man for a goldfish orange shirt? If they made him blue back in the day how would you see him in a 4 color comic?

Brown and orange worked better, or better yet whatever the hell he usually went decked out in in Madripoor.

Okay...

Red Tornado is a robot and he happens to be the color red, so he doesn't count. They could have chose any color, but we were kind of getting tired of all the Green [noun]s bumping around.

Mysterio's costume is positively inspired. I love it. It isn't impractical because of the whole hallucination gas thing and it looks sufficiently menacing.

Black Manta's costume is the same. The helmet looks rad because he's simultaneously a humanoid, but the head marks him out as something less than human and more than machine because of the organic curvature of his character. Rockin' design.

I like Aquaman's costume, but there is no defending it really.

Dr Bong is supposed to be ridiculous though. He's a Howard the Duck villain.

I don't think Dr. Bong counts, just because he is supposed to be a joke character.

If Psylocke's outfit is ridiculous, than I don't wanna live in a respectable world.

The worst I can say about Aquaman's costume is that until 1960 or so, his gloves were yellow.

Masturbating.

YOU TAKE THAT BACK.

At least he doesn't dress in the manner of a male prostitute.
