I bet if the DMV were closed Sunday/Monday/Tuesday no one would care so long as it was open on Saturday or later on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday.

With their possessive pronouns, naturally.

They can try some creative scheduling, like TehNacho suggests, and the impact on the residents would be minimal. Or they could levy a sales tax. This is what you get when your state has gambling and hookers for your major industries. Making a budget based on what others are putting in your begging cup is no way to go through life, Nevada.

Cog: How can monkeys possess rejoice?

Monkey (singular)'s rejoice. Which makes much more sense.

It's like that monkey's dynamite, I think.

Personally, I feel the most reasonable stance is to demand a balanced budget, but to be outraged by any cuts in services or capability.

Am I missing anything?

Rejoice: to feel joy or great delight.
Imagine the rejoicing they would feel if given the opportunity to fling feces at Grammer Nazis.

Subgramtard here.

The problem is the FIRST thing they cut is Police Fire etc, or things they, the government, require the citizens to comply with, BMV, I did not ask them to make my register my car, they make me do that...

Instead of cutting Welfare and other Programs.

And no I do not care if people starve to death. Work or die, your not my problem,

Still waiting on Nevada to phase out laws altogether.

"Laws have been good to the state of Nevada," said the governor, between swigs of Jim Beam. "But ultimately, after carefully considering what's best for the long-term economic growth and prosperity of the state, we decided that lawfulness just wasn't a good idea."

"Critics always argued that if we allowed gambling and prostitution, it was just a short leap to lawlessness," said Senate Majority Leader William Raggio (R-Washoe), flanked by a pair of armed strippers. "It didn't sink in for a while, but we eventually just sort of looked at each other and said, 'Why not?' Without laws, Nevada could offer a whole range of entertainment and lifestyle options never before imagined."

Incidentally a "Monkey's Rejoice" is a very special service you can get in Vegas at 4 AM. Just don't let anybody take pictures.

Normally I would agree with you, but you don't know the difference between "you're" and "your" so your point is invalid. Also the first part of your sentence is completely illegible.

their admitted stragety is to be less efficient to incentivise the tax payer to pay more. Only in America does this make sense. They should fire the government workers and hire outsource.

"10-hour-a-month furlough for state workers and lift their flagging morale."

Ummm... my morale would certainly be lifted if I had a four-day work week at my same rate of pay but I don't think having them take a furlough (unpaid) is going to do much for their morale. It's like being unemployed -- you can't enjoy that the same way you can a week's vacation.

That just makes it worse in quality. No outsourcing effort's ever been honest. But it's 'The Republican Way' to outsource industries whether to an illegal, a seedy permatemp agency, some industry in the South, or some country that no US citizen could reach (or want to work in).

It's not 'doing a favor for someone' as much as it is selling your soul for limited prosperity.

Actually, I know quite a few people who work for Uncle Sam (myself included) who work a 4/10. Due to travel and other extenuating circumstances, I work Fridays about half of the time, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Having Friday to go out and get all my chores done and then have the rest of the weekend for myself is just awesome.

And as another poster above said, Monday holidays lead to a four-day weekend (which then leads to a three-day workweek and then another three-day weekend).

I work four 10s (in Nevada no less) and I hate it. Mostly due to the unpaid hour lunch we have to take means we work 7a-6p. Its pretty depressing in the winter to come to work and then go home and never see the sun. Plus the retard drivers seem to come out at night, especially during the holidays.
