Bedevere: How do you know she is a witchFrench?
Peasant: She looks like one.
Peasant Crowd: [shouting, indistinct]
Bedevere: Bring her forward
Girl: I'm not a witchFrench.
Bedevere: But you are dressed as one...
Girl: They dressed me up like this.
Peasant Crowd: [indistinct]
Girl: And this isn't my nose. This is a false one.
Bedevere: [Inspects "nose"]
Bedevere: Well..??
Peasant: Well, we did do the nose.
Bedevere: The nose??
Peasant: And the hat. She's a witch French
Peasant Crowd: Burn her!
Bedevere: Did you dress her up like this?
Peasant Crowd:No, No, no , ...... Yes, Yes. A bit. But she's got a wart.
Bedevere: Why do you think that she is a witchFrench?
Peasant: Well, she turned me into a newt.
[Bedevere gives him a disbelieving look]
Bedevere: A newt?
[Silence]
Peasant: Well, I got better.
Peasant Crowd: Burn her anyway!

Are there really people on this planet that weep and cry when a frog or toad gets run over?

I mean for real, like, there are people that are so overcome with emotion when an amphibian dies, they lobby the government to do something about it???

How does one brain become so damaged?

better joke was out there involving the game frogger, shoots and miss.

Well, frog and toad did commit the holocaust. At least that's what the German government says.

Davis California: Toad Hollow

The city of Davis built special tunnels so toads wouldn't be squished crossing the highway.

Hello my baby
Hello my honey
Hello my ragtime gal
You wanna cross the road
So listen to your friend, the toad
There's nothin' to it
Watch how I do it
Just look at this 'ol frog
It's easy as fallin' off a log

The Torygraph seems to forget that we Brits have previously tried hedgehog crossings for much the same reason - and then gave up on them because hedgehogs are stupid as shiat and still cross the road - as sumarised in poetry here.

It's been a few years since I read them but I remember there were dictionaries included as appendices in most of the books. There's also an 'Aubrey's Navy' book (can't remember the exact title) which details pretty much everything you need to know. It's illustrated which is a big help.

I'd say you get that or any of the other companion books if you ever feel like giving the series another chance.
