Ret. Colonel Robert L Howard . . .

So, Conan the Barbarian was autobiographical?

I can't believe nobody has made that connection yet.

Jakevol2: Kyoki: Jakevol2: Career military huh? What? He couldn't hack it in the real world?

The jizz mopper at the Shady Lady is a bigger hero than this yutz.

Too obvious 0/10

You will think it is a 0/10 after I film myself dancing on his grave and post it to YouTube.

You NOT have the balls to go and find this man's grave and actually dance on it and film your little jig. You are all big and tough on the internet but if you ever had to leave your mom's basement you would shiat yourself if a dog barked in your general direction. Then again, you are probably too farking retarded to find your way from Inbred, Missouri all the way to Arlington, Virginia.

MAYOR BOB, I'm going with B, as choice A appears to be nothing more than a turd in a t-shirt.

How has some lucky girl not managed to snag you right up, Jakevol2?

Thank you for your service, Colonel. I am humbled by people like you. And grateful.

GAT_00:

I'm trying to think of how someone would mock this guy. Hmm...

Based on his service record... from a distance.

/got nothing.
//cannot thank the Colonel enough for his service, as mere thanks do not seem fitting enough.

Really makes me wonder why Farkers do the steel balls thing. People here obviously don't respect or care about the freedoms soldiers have given them with their sacrifice. Farkers don't even remotely have the same values as solders. Makes no sense.

"Thank you Sir!"

America - "May we please have another?"

I wouldn't say that's entirely true, Thunderpipes. There are a large number of people posting in this very thread, myself included, who respect this man for his service, and value the sacrifices made by servicemembers and their families while they serve our country- doesn't matter whether you're an E-4 on your third deployment to the sandbox or a grade-A 100% pure badass with so many medals that you lean when you walk, you and your family are making sacrifices which I appreciate.

Sadly, I think the volume of worthless bile spewed by the hygienically challenged Mr. Donut further upthread has somehow jaded you... do like so many of the rest of us, add him to your ignore list then refresh the thread. I think you might come away with a better impression.

/laughed my ass off at the "Suzy Q" line

Regardless of the politics of the matter people have to respect when someone does an exemplary job in the face of almost certain death. I work in the oil field and it is dangerous but I don't worry about someone trying to purposefully kill me on a daily basis. These people in the military were a mix of volunteers and draftees who were assigned a job. It just so happens that their job is as a soldier and part of that job is sometimes getting shot at.

The point is that this guy did his job way better than all but a handful of other people in the same career path. He took human life but also preserved it. Unless you are an EMT in the ghetto, a fireman, or have a Toyota as a company car, you probably don't face life and death every day so at least tip your hat at a guy who DID HIS JOB. You don't have to like what he does for work but it is an absolute necessity to have people like him swingin his brass balls in the face of our enemies.

I am such a poor troll that 8hrs after I went to bed the sheeple on FARK are still talking about me. I got what I wanted and that was for you people to stop talking about a common murdering thug in olive green and to talk about me.

Anyone want to take bets that Jakevol2 has played at least 1 war-related game in his life and idolized the phrase "Boom! Headshot!"?

As for the Col., you have my deepest respect and thanks. If it weren't for you, there would have been dozens of families who never saw their brothers/husbands/fathers/sons again. And if it weren't for soldiers like him, we wouldn't have made military advancements so that we can continue to minimize casualties and aid the warfighters in taking command and control of the battlefields.

No offense dude but the Col. probably had fire fights that lasted longer than the Gulf War. You can be as careful as you want and you can still get wounded. I was also in the Gulf War as an 0331 and have a CAR but would never ever put myself in the same class as people who fought in WWII, Korea, Vietnam or even the kids who are in Iraq and Afghanistan today. They've forgotten more about war than you or I will ever know

Like I said, any muddle brained moron can pick up a gun. The real HEROES are the Doctors Without Borders who, you know, actually go into harm's way to SAVE lives, voluntarily and without pay. Lets see COL. BRASS BALLS do that.

Oh that's right, he died.

So your whole life revolves around trying to be offensive enough with your nonsense to annoy people? Kind of pathetic, actually.

2010-02-25 08:55:08 AM
I didn't know talking up Doctors Without Borders was supposed to be offensive and annoying. Are you offended by doctors who go into war zones with out any expectation of pay to save the lives of people with terrible injuries and crippling diseases?

And by the way douche bag, the doctors who participate in DWB DO get paid, not nearly as much as they would in a hospital of course but lets not pretend that they're doing it for free. Too bad the jizz mopper at the Shady Lady aka your mother didn't die of the pneumonia she had earlier in the month, I'd liked to have danced on her grave, filmed it and put it on youtube.

Can someone Army buffier than me explain why they are equating airborne and special forces? I thought Green Beret and Special Forces were the same thing, but does Airborne fall under SF right along side GB?

I know the Green Berets have to go through Airborne training, but they do more on top of that, at least these days.

Jakevol2,
You are entitled to your opinion, as is everyone else here on this site. You may not have supported what he had done with his life, but it was his life. You live yours the way you see fit.
My question to you is what have you done in your life to help your fellow man? What have you done to make this a better place in which we live?

2010-02-25 09:14:24 AM
To sum up, here's what you can take away from this thread, Red-Staters:

1). Blue state folks appreciate a true hero and a patriot as much as the next guy.

2). When a badly-tattooed hobbit attention whore comes into a thread and drops his little hobbity turds all over the place, we're just as likely to call him out on it as you are. We don't like extremist "liberal" nutters any more than we like extremist nutters of ANY kind.

So here's what we'd like you to do in return:

1). Admit that being critical and being unpatriotic are not the same thing.

2). Jump all over the wankers on your side who say outrageous and stupid things.

Who knows, maybe we'll eventually break down the divide a bit.

/Salutes a hero

What freedoms did the Vietnam War, or any war since give me? I'm not going to crap on this guy's service, but war is a racket, and the sooner my countrymen realize that, the closer we'll all be to achieving true freedom.

Mock26: Jakevol2: Kyoki: Jakevol2: Career military huh? What? He couldn't hack it in the real world?

His world was much more reality than I would ever wish to be subjected to. That man raised a standard so high very few of us would be able to see it with a telescope. Go ahead and be a petty, secretyly jealous hate monger while trying to hold a moral high ground. You attempted to disgrace a man who has passed on, you have lain your filth, hypocracy and ineptitude at the feet of a giant... and were envoloped in his shadow.

I hope you live a long peaceful life, and never get the chance to know the heroism and sleflessness you have taken for granted.

Cheft: TheWarmonger: RIP Hero.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." - John Stuart Mill

Bears repeating... That is all.

This... And I'll raise you one Stormin' Norman:

"A professional soldier understands that war means killing people, war means maiming people, war means families left without fathers and mothers. All you have to do is hold your first dying soldier in your arms, and have that terribly futile feeling that his life is flowing out and you can't do anything about it. Then you understand the horror of war. Any soldier worth his salt should be antiwar. And still, there are things worth fighting for."

Blue Skies, Colonel... RIP.
