(Some Guy)   You know that far-left, socialistic health care bill Obama is proposing? It's almost identical to the Republicans' health care reform plan from 1993   (kaiserhealthnews.org) divider line 116

But those 1993 Republicans have all been outed by now as RINOS. They'll get theirs.

Oh, wait, they've already gotten theirs.

So does that mean that Democrats will be against it for pandering to corporate interests, or that Republicans will get on board because it's what they've wanted all along?

For what it's worth, Gore pushed for a public option in his 2000 campaign. It would have cost roughly $400 million then. That's it. Now, JWP's 30x number is obvious bullshiat, but the fact that in 10 years the number on the public option has roughly tripled is proof of the out of control costs.

Hey dildo, did you miss this part?

Cost: No CBO estimate
Impact on Deficit: No CBO estimate

MuadDib: Well, if it's similar to a bill proposed by Senator Chafee, it must be the work of the fascistic far right that plots daily to destroy America and turn it into a tyrannical theocracy!

You seem to have some foam at the corners of your mouth, subby. When you've wiped it off and calmed down a little...

Wow, project much? The headline isn't even close to the level of froth you've got going on, and it's almost sad that you posted that strawman picture after pretending that liberals think "the fascistic far right that plots daily to destroy America and turn it into a tyrannical theocracy!"

So, if the Democrats take the EXACT same bill that the Republicans proposed in 93, update all the language (find/replace all), and throw it in the scrum, should we expect it to pass the House/Senate virtually* unopposed? 'Cos that's exactly what I would do if I was Pelosi. Make a big thing about agreeing to completely overhaul healthcare in accords with what the Republicans proposed during the leadup to the Republican Revolution. Invoke Newt Gingrich, FFS. Then see how many are really just Party of No-ing, and which ones actually have principles that include the best interests of the people.

The Democrats should reintroduce the Contract with America, but call it something different (the American Freedom Agreement, maybe), and then enjoy the lulz as the GOP denounces it as socialism.

I do not like it in reconciliation.

I do not like giving in to Ben Nelson.

It would just be trolling, but it's not like the Democrats are getting much done, anyway. If Congress can't give us health-care reform, at least it could give us lulz.

I do not want health care reform
I do not like it, it's not the norm
I'm an average Joe, and I work hard
I don't have to listen to some left-wing tard

Go on about how things aren't "fair"
Because some jerk doesn't have health care
They want to pay for it on my dime?
I'll proudly shout how "I've got mine!"
