Torn between swooning over the cuteness and weeping over the state of journalism.

I suppose the "puppycam" might get a pass in this case as it could be argued that the feature raises awareness of the need for service dogs (and could potentially help raise funds for training).

"Xante"?

You give a dog a weird name, you begin to think of her as weird. Which is why I only go for doggy names: Spot, Fido...Bowser...Xante? That can spell trouble.

bad_blood: that dog farking loves to chew stuff

It's part of the breed, they are very mouthy. If they can get they will chew it (as puppies, sometimes adults to)

Same here, I have a friend fostering him now and he just goes with the flow. He's really stubborn about learning/listening though (he's almost 2), and for some reason he doesn't know how to jump (like into the truck or onto the couch) he tries to climb.

I hope this puppy grows into the fine specimen that Huck was to Farkers Jive Turkey and Mrs. Jive Turkey. Sure looks like he has all the makings of being a darned fine dog.

Our family is in the process of raising our 6th seeing eye puppy, so I'm getting a kick, etc. etc. At first we wondered about the wacky names too.

We learned that the Seeing Eye names all the dogs in a litter with the same letter, rotating the letters thru the alphabet. We have raised Verona, Pearl, Velour, Misty, Phoebe, and our current puppy is Karma.

Oh no. They need to teach him not to bite people. He may have little teeth now, but the real ones will grow in!

OK, I can see that you really love your dog, but I just want you to think about something for a minute. What happens if, dog forbid, you're driving down the highway at 70mph with her in the back of the pickup and a June bug hits her in the eye?? Vets see this shiat all the time, and let me assure you - it's NOT pretty. Don't let your dog ride in the back of the pickup like that - it's not safe. Period. And letting her hang her head out of the window also isn't safe. If you wouldn't let a kid do it, don't let your dog do it.

//You don't want to have to resuscitate your dog after a June bug has annihilated its windpipe at 70mph!!

There's a black lab puppy at my gym on and off. He's training to be a "leadership dog". Needless to say he has all the tennis balls in the world but would really rather chew on the doorstop.

Yep...I have to pick her up too. She's a natural bird dog. The only problem is that when she hears the safety come off the shotgun she's up and running looking for the birds and if she shes them coming in, she takes off after them before I shoot! Tends to run the birds in the other direction but what the hell. She's having fun being a dog and I have fun watching her.

And the couch is a BIG no no! mamarita does NOT allow her to climb up.

No, this is what a golden retriever is really thinking. They are sweet dogs, but dumber than a sack of broken hammers.

I only let my dog hang out the window when I'm just traveling around town or to the park at 30mph as I know what can happen to their eyes.
/I really know I shouldn't
//I do let my wife hang out the window at 40mph though

I wonder why there's a bag there with him. It is plastic and he likes to chew stuffs. It would suck if they let him die on camera.

That's it, my 6 year old retriever is going straight in the dryer when I get home, to see if I can shrink him back down to that size.

I know I know.

That's why I reserve the truck bed for cousins or annoying nephews. The pets get to ride inside with me.
