Well that's pretty f*cked up. Nothing like starting your weekend with a child porn story. Yuck.

2003-04-19 10:27:15 AM
well, that's my day, and it's only 9:30 in the morning

2003-04-19 10:27:29 AM
yes that is stupid

2003-04-19 10:28:53 AM
Uh-oh... my sister has a picture of my nephew breastfeeding, with my other nephew, 5 years old, touching the baby :S

2003-04-19 10:30:39 AM
That sucks...

This is a travesty of justice. Everyone from the photo clerk through to the DA that prosecuted this in front of the grand jury should hang their heads in shame. The fact that anyone would try to prosecute this boggles my mind.

2003-04-19 10:35:21 AM
I never understood why it was a bad idea to get between a mother bear and it's cub until my son was born. Any government employee attempting to remove my child had better have their affairs in order.

2003-04-19 10:35:57 AM
Dang. No pics.

<!jk!>

2003-04-19 10:37:22 AM
that's actually really sad. how many people would be locked away if their houses were searched for naked baby pics...but then again, if they simply take the pictures away it could save the kids much trauma later on in life...

2003-04-19 10:37:50 AM
this also goes for harmless, "blackmail you when you're older pics" of you as a child in the bathtub. I've heard of people being arrested trying to get those developed.

2003-04-19 10:37:59 AM
To play devil's advocate, the picture on the second page doesn't seem to be a nurturing, breast-feeding position. She's kneeling with the child standing. I don't blame the store clerks for calling it into question, but at the same time this should have been stopped before it ever got to court...

2003-04-19 10:38:10 AM
I always wondered how Anne Gedde's photos were not kiddie porn. Naked babies in flower pots??

My parents have naked baby pics of my twin sisters and I in a bathtub, and of the three of us breast feeding (though not all three together... of course...) As embarassing as those pictures might be, they're still not porn. Though maybe that's one more thing with which I have leverage ;)

This is heart-breaking.

Sounds like the Richardson Police don't have anything better to do than invent cases for themselves!

YAY AMERIKA! WE ARE NOT A POLICE STATE- I REPEAT WE ARE NOT A POLICE STATE!

Anyone try to KIDNAP my children from me...BANG...BANG...BANG...the world is a better place with a few less busybody social workers.

Two words: Digital Camera.
Or Polaroids.

2003-04-19 10:46:04 AM
At least this happened in Texas and not in America!

2003-04-19 10:47:13 AM
In order to make the best of a bad situation, I'd love to see this woman wind up in an ad for digital cameras. She could explain how she was taking photos of her kids in the bath, breastfeeding, etc. Have her mention the photo-developing location by name, and tell all about how her privacy was invaded.

After embarassing everyone involved, she could then go on to mention the wonderful things about the such-and-such company's video camera - No photo labs, total privacy, and easy to use!

This is one of those times where I'd just love to see the victim of all this come out on top.

2003-04-19 10:47:19 AM
This REALLY makes the argument for digital cameras... nobody looking at the pictures I take BUT me.

This is morally repugnant. I can't believe that the people deveoloping these pictures thought that pictures of kids taking baths and infants breast feeding is kiddie porn. This has gone WAY too far.

2003-04-19 10:47:21 AM
Uh, oh...am I a purveyor of child pornography?

(It's a picture my dad took of me taking a dump on a windowsill.)

no one made you click on it. also, you don't really believe that was child porn, do you?

Don't believe anything you read in the Dallas Observer. It is the most lopsided, one-sided, non-complete, spin the story to the angle you want to present, piece of non-professional crap tabloid print media on the market.

If you take anything from the Dallas Observer for face value, then you are a fool.

At what point do we unfairly indict enough people for supposed child endangerment and sex offenses that it doesn't seem so bad anymore?

Yes, there are people who will have to register for the rest of their lives as sex offenders because they urinated in a park at 4am.

The label 'sex offender' doesn't mean anything to me anymore.

2003-04-19 10:54:48 AM
Dallas is farked up. They won't even allow strip clubs, as I understand it.

Houston is a lot more sensible.

This isn't an AMERIKA problem. This is a problem with bureaucrats and idiotic cops/da's getting hungry for convictions to make themselves look good.

If social workers had their way, EVERY child would be under their control. Damn empire builders.

Also, for most pychologists, EVERYONE should be in therapy. They even teach it in college that everyone needs therapy.

Is it any wonder why the cops decided to take it as an arrestable offense, the da decided to take it as a case, the social workers decided to grab the kids, and the psychologist recommended parenting classes? Damn farkers out there need to be run through the same process they do to others.

2003-04-19 10:54:58 AM
and a better one too...

2003-04-19 10:55:38 AM
I'm beyond words this made me so mad. The whole "child welfare" system is the most fukked up thing in the world. I think it reflects more on the people doing the accusing as to how turned on THEY were by the pictures, not the parents.

2003-04-19 10:56:14 AM
Texas sucks.

2003-04-19 10:56:21 AM
Eckerd's and Walmart are well know for crap like this. Avoid them! It's amazing that the DA's office is even stupider than a high school drop out, minimum wage drug store clerk.

2003-04-19 10:56:39 AM
I am sick of overzealous detectives who get it in their minds that someone committed a crime and skew their findings to support that. I have seen this happen too many times. The court system is no better, unless it is brought to public attention, they generally go on the assumption of guilty until proven innocent. Unfortunately for the accused, cases like this lead to convictions most of the time, regardless of evidence to the contrary. It has become a knee jerk reaction, "Oh my God, if they were accused of so heinous a crime, they must be guilty in some way." Juries are overwhelmed by outraged sounding prosecution with images of child porn, untill they feel that they have to convict.

sad...sad thing...

poor parents...

I live in the dallas area and my wife is expecting in 5 months. This story just made me 'so' happy i bought a digital still and video camera...

sad...sad thing

Living in the Dallas area, I suspect this has less to do with child porn and more about harassing poor hispanic immigrants. There've been FAR too many cases around here involving the police trumping up charges against immigrants just to get a big, easy conviction on their record against people who usually can't even speak conversational English, much less hire qualified representation. (case in point: the sheetrock "drug" busts. Despite overwhelming evidence showing those arrests to be 100% bogus, the DPD has not admitted any wrongdoing yet and most of the convictions are still standing)
I'm not saying all cops in the area are racist, far from it. (for the most part, I think our beat cops are great guys) But there are just enough willing to do things like this to make the system very unfriendly to anyone who's not a WASP.

2003-04-19 11:10:50 AM
what a bunch of bull. pictures of naked children is not always porn! Nor are pictures of naked adults! Anyone at Eckerd or Walmart been to a museum? ..or have they only been to porn shops. Theres a BIG difference.

Want to be suprised? Go pick up naturalist nudism magazine sometime. http://www.internaturally.com/ http://www.internaturally.com/

2003-04-19 11:11:10 AM
Ramell: Well, you should give yourself up now as, quite clearly, you are a potential offender.

I know that they have to be on the case for child porn, but sometimes you have to wander how come they managed to fark things up quite so badly.

2003-04-19 11:12:28 AM
You fools. You have no idea how many mothers actually 'get off' on having their tities sucked by little children. The magnitude of this problem can hardly be guessed. The average American mother achieves 55% of the the sexual pleasure necessary for orgasm simply by forcing herself on the child in this manner! Nearly every woman will lie to you about this fact, but it's true. And it's easy to see the proof. Think for a second, what woman would allow a grown man to suck her breast in a non-sexual situation? Would it be all right if he's just getting a meal? And they then try to tell us that suddenly it's all right when a non-consenting infant is involved. Well, we aren't dumb enough to believe that, are we?

Most people have get a warm feeling inside when they see a mother caring for an infant -- but don't trust that feeling. What we call 'mother' could more accurately be termed 'biologically related pedophile'. It's a crime, plain and simple. We need laws, and we need them urgently. Get these children out of that dangerous situation! Perhaps bottle-feeders can be allowed supervised visits. Perhaps. But it's time to rip the babes away from the breast! Children cannot be allowed to stay with these evil sex criminals any longer. Whatever place they have to wind up is fine -- just get these kids out of the reach of that terrible creature called 'mother'.

Un-farking-believable. Better come take my grandmother away, too. One of her favorite passtimes was taking pictures of my 2-year-old ass at bathtime. I don't have any such pics of my son. Why not, you ask? Because of idiotic shiat like this. This is far from the first time this has happened.

2003-04-19 11:17:19 AM
Thras, I must give you props. That was one of the most literate, creative, and downright offensive pieces of flamebait I've seen in a long time. If more trolls were like you, the Fark forums would be even more ludicrously entertaining.

This may be true - that the Dallas Observer is crap. But after reading the article, I honestly don't see how they could have spin doctored this so well if it weren't true. The child was engaging in 'sexual acts' by feeding? I think it would be far more difficult to spin that to be porn than non-porn. All I can think is that possibly the child was nude while it fed. That could have been "spin doctored" out of the article. But I still don't see how that would be child porn any more than photos of children in the bathtub. I mean "OH NO! HE'S DRINKING HIS MOTHER'S MILK THIS TIME!"... Our country is retarded. We attack the things of life for being immoral more than the things that cause death.

I'm kind of hoping that Thras's post was sarcasm.

I have a naked picture of my 7 month old daughter on the wall at work. Some people are just idiots and need to get the crap slapped out of them.

by the way this picture was taken at a proffesional photography studi. Does that mean they are producing child pornography.

I hope to hell you were being saracastic, Thras, but if you weren't...

Well, gee, Thras, isn't it one of the characteristics of being a mammal -- which a human is -- to suckle their young? Just take away all that crap you just spouted to realize that in nature, babies of all kinds need milk in order to get the nutrients and antibodies they need to be healthy. Only after they've grown some can they handle other foods. How is following basic biology a crime?

2003-04-19 11:26:59 AM
Thras, although you're trolling you're actually not really all wrong. Plenty of women DO get sexually aroused from breast-feeding. Heck some women even orgasm when they give birth. It's not really something commonly talked about though for obvious reasons.

Adorable, Johnz16 :)

They sound like the worst kind of terroists. Lock them up on material witness charges, sepeate the entire family. Only the proper and right thing to do.
/sarcasm for the asshats in here
