Seen it already....in blu-ray....but it wasn't widescreen. So that kind of sucked.

You can watch it online at a couple of sites. It's a steaming pile of feces.

No, I take that back. That's an undeserved insult to feces.

There's a reason they released it on DVD before airing it. After watching it, no one would ever want to buy it.

PenguinTheRed: It's a steaming pile of feces.

I completely disagree with you. It is a cold, dry pile of feces.

It had some funny moments, but wasn't as good as the first Star Wars parody.

kronicfeld: It had some funny moments, but wasn't as good as the first Star Wars parody.

That is disappointing news.

I'll probably still watch it, though.

I used to like Family Guy, but then Fark told me I'm supposed to hate it.

CraicBaby: I used to like Family Guy, but then Fark told me I'm supposed to hate it.

Liking things other people like is stupid and you should feel bad for it.

/Haven't seen this, though
//Can believe it sucks.

It definately wasn't as good as the first one, and it won't be nearly as good as the 3rd one (Empire didn't have the comedy of episodes 4 and 6).

It had its moments, though.

/Shut up, Meg

Any program that draws me back after I turned off one episode 12 seconds in has my undying appreciation.

Now can we puhlease have a sexy party?

I heard that Lucas is totally going to revamp the special effects in this episode as release it as a special edition in a few years.

When do we get Family Guys' 'The Battle for Endor' Special?

CraicBaby: I used to like Family Guy, but then Fark told me I'm supposed to hate it.

THIS.

Oh, and Megan Fox is not hot. She's so untalented. You can't be a bad actress and hot. Did I mention her thumb, yet? Because, apparently that's really important, too.

SSSDS was good, but Blue Harvest was better...cant wait for the next one.

It won't be as funny on network TV because of the censors. Watch it on DVD/BR

If it's 'go-down' syndrome, I'm okay with it.

Already watched it... well no I did not watch it all. I didn't think is was that funny.
American Dad's Rapture's Delight was about the most entertaining thing from Seth camp this year.

My "church" night has really gone down hill. But like all people of faith I can't stop watching that lineup on Fox. Minus the Cleveland show of course.

Anyone ever notice that Lando is wearing Han Solo's clothes at end of The Empire Strikes Back?

It was pretty damn funny. So was the first one. People that didn't think it was funny are perfectly entitled to their feelings. Doesn't make me like it less.

Gunny Highway: When do we get Family Guys' 'The Battle for Endor' Special?

It's going to be called "We've Got a Bad Feeling About This." There's a clip of the cast doing a table read for it on the SSSDS DVD. Not sure when it's coming out, though.

2010-02-19 05:21:32 PM
First one was great. Second one, gigantic pile of crap. Maybe two or three funny moments in the whole thing.

Walker: Seen it already....in blu-ray....but it wasn't widescreen. So that kind of sucked.

Yeesh. Actually, I'm glad I know that now. When I went to Costco, they only had the DVD version and it wasn't in wide screen either.

2010-02-19 05:28:54 PM
I liked it. For each their own, though. It's not like you have a gun to your head and are being forced to watch it.

"No....it leave a film."

Add me to the list that loved the first one, and found the second far more boring.

2010-02-19 05:31:03 PM
Family Guy fan here, but Something Something Something Dark Side was terrible. Just terrible.

2010-02-19 05:31:16 PM
the first one was a labor of love -- you could TELL they loved the source material and *wanted* to do an homage.

the second one seemed like they were punching a timeclock. "joke-goes-on-too-long joke here, rag on Meg here, Peter's a dick here, Brian breaks the 4th wall here" etc. nothing to compare to the little touches in the first one ("Pew! Pew! Gotcha ...")

(except maybe "Ha! Look, the giant chicken is Boba Fett!")

/I hate these hats.
//Yessir.

HawgWild: "I love you."

"Fark off."

That was the only funny moment of the entire thing.

2010-02-19 05:33:26 PM
I enjoyed it quite a bit. I even rewatched it with the pop-up video style format.

Does hating something make you cool, or does it just make you think you're cool?

i always thought it was because Lando had to escape from Bespin with nothing. got to the fleet had a nice hot shower stepped out and went, "shiat! i have nothing to wear! oh well, han's not going to miss these."

I was hoping for more Mort Goldman as Lando and Francis Griffin to be the Emperor....

But alas, it was not to be.

Also, it was mildly funny. Peter's reaction prior to being frozen in carbonite, and his expression in said carbonite were the funniest things in the episode.

2010-02-19 05:47:08 PM
I prefer Blue Harvest, but this latest version was good, IMHO.

However....

Having Carter Pewterschmidt play Emperor Palpatine was kind of meh. McFarlane's version of Karl Rove would have been better.

Tesko: Peter's reaction prior to being frozen in carbonite, and his expression in said carbonite were the funniest things in the episode.

Seconded.

Runner-up:

Darth Stewie saying "Shiat!" It's not the fact that he said it, it's the way he said it.

2010-02-19 05:49:58 PM
F'you Fark, I liked it. Yes, it wasn't as funny as the first one, simply because the first one was so unexpectedly funny. And, as another poster said, Empire is an overall darker film than Hope or Jedi.

Rude Turnip

That's the swashbuckling, devil-may-care pilot/smuggler uniform. Lando went all corporate and forgot who he was: the change of clothes signifies his return to his real self.

I'm making this up.

kronicfeld: It had some funny moments, but wasn't as good as the first Star Wars parody.

This. The F-Bombs weren't funny. They felt forced so it could be more "edgy".
The first one was way better. I won't even watch the second one again and I'm a 501st Star Wars geek.

kronicfeld: It had some funny moments, but wasn't as good as the first Star Wars parody.

Agreed. This was easily the funniest part of Something Something Something Dark Side:

Leia/Lois: You're gonna attack them?!

Han/Peter: (as Leia/Lois) "You're gonna attack them?!" (normal voice) That's what you sound like. (as Leia/Lois again) "You're gonna attack them?!" (normal voice again) Imagine listening to that all day.

I found the first one pretty poor, don't really get the hype over it.

The only f-bomb that was funny in SSSD was R2 after being spit out by the swamp monster.

This was pretty much the conclusion I came to. The cape and powder blue pirate shirt were fine for walking on around Bespin, but now he needs to get shiat done, and nothing is better for getting shiat done than a kickass smuggler vest.

My favorite part was Leia's instructions to the pilots on Hoth: "We're going to fly directly through the blockade of Star Destroyers, even though we're in space and could escape in literally any other direction."

I've done that the last couple years.

I burn copies of SWHS and Santa Claus Conquers The Martians (the boring real version, not the fun MST3K version) and send them out with my cards.
