Was that wrong? Should I not have done that? Honestly, if someone had said something to me on day one, this whole misunderstanding could have been avoided.

The benefits there must be killer.

Unless the faculty are unionized, I'm guessing she'll be hitting the want ads soon.

2010-02-19 03:49:49 PM
If I looked that stupid I'd probably want to kill people too.

Hal Jalykakik: Unless the faculty are unionized, I'm guessing she'll be hitting the want ads soon.

Well so far she remains innocent, so a suspension without pay seems in order. Then they can sue the sh*t out of her later. Well they could do that either way, but they should regardless.

Whew...they're working up a case for insanity alright. Doubt it'll work in Alabama.

god, she has farked so many lives up-her husbands, her kids, the victims and their families, the department, the school's, holy shiat.

/got nothin', just WOW

At least she has a sense of humor about the situation.

And if they are unionized, she'll get an automatic promotion, raise, and the go-ahead and kill up to three more people each year.

It's obvious to me this man was a ticking time bomb.

Wait, what?

2010-02-19 03:53:20 PM
Well she heard there were some vacancies in the department, including a couple of tenured positions. Can I apply for those?

2010-02-19 03:54:21 PM
She probably still would if they had given her tenure.

If they're deionized we could use her in the lab.

Um, I'd hit the latter, you know, in a sexual capacity. The former, only with a sledgehammer, blade, or firearm.

I doubt that having offed her younger brother a couple of decades earlier will help her case...

If it was a gun-free zone then she's screwed.

Welcome to North Florida.

You can't fire someone in government work for no reason. As it stands right now she has been accused but not convicted of a crime. Once she is convicted (or pleads guilty) they will terminate her.

And then the state will terminate her.

Quote - "Bishop's husband, James Anderson, told ABC's "Good Morning America" he also thought the failed tenure battle was involved.

"Only someone who has been intricately involved with that fight understands what a tough, long, hard battle (it is). ... That I would say is part of the problem, is a factor," he said in an interview aired Friday".

Yeah, that's a good reason to start shooting people, I mean what with the tough life college professor's lead and all.

Srsly. And if she had a pack of cigarettes on her, they will probably go for the felony rap.

Nice pun, I chuckled. However, since she's white it's highly doubtful she'd get the death penalty (statistically speaking). Even from those barbarians in Floridia.

crazywisdom_uk: Whew...they're working up a case for insanity alright. Doubt it'll work in Alabama.

Not a chance in hell. Insanity defenses rarely work anyway, and in her case -- she has a whelk's chance in a supernova.

Really, the only good move she has is making a plea bargain for life in prison; she may at least spare herself the death penalty if she is willing to plead guilty.

What she needs is a fitting for a straight jacket?

If she has tenure, she probably still does. . .It's a biatch to get rid of tenured professors.

Beeblebrox: I work in government and can be fired for no reason.

Let's say they fired her for shooting her colleagues in the head at a staff meeting, before any guilty verdict was handed down. Plenty of people lose their jobs without the police being involved, and given her criminal background she's already got some strikes on her record. I'm sure that the surviving co-workers would be more than happy to file a grievance against her that would get her fired now. That's what it would take for most cases.

Did Joe Stack spend any time in prison?

His manifesto says his first round with IRS was as part of an organized tax-evasion conspiracy that "cost me $40,000+, 10 years of my life, and set my retirement plans back to 0." However I don't recall any news coverage mentioning a prison record. Does he just mean it was a setback that took him 10 years to recover from?

I like this commentary on his manifesto a lot:
