As much as I wanted to take a stab at trying out his famous pint-glass-in-the-mouth trick, I'm not sure if I want to go all the way out there now, especially considering the scheduled track work.

The track work that had been scheduled for that weekend has been postponed due to this past week's snow storms.

Metro is postponing Presidents Day weekend track work on the Blue and Orange lines and two emergency response exercises due to last weekend's record snowfall and ongoing recovery efforts.

The major track rehabilitation project that would have closed the Rosslyn and Arlington Cemetery Metrorail stations will be rescheduled at a later date.

AlabamaGirl: I really really hate to say it, but I'm not going to be able to make it. I had plane tickets already and everything, and I was looking forward to being there, but the weather combined with personal illness (so far I've had a CT scan, Xrays and a bit of bloodwork this week) are going to keep me from being there this weekend. Hopefully in a few weeks I will be able to reschedule. I miss y'all and I will especially miss Bufu.

On another note, each year, at Pennsic, we burn a small (about one meter long) Viking Longship on the lake
as a memorial to people who've died in the preceding year. The shields on the sides are painted with
Insignias/coat-of-arms/whatever
that signify individual people.

I plan to paint a shield for Bufu, so I'm tossing it out
for discussion: What should be on Bufu's shield?

The shields are about two inches in diameter, and the detail I can get is kinda poor, so nothing too fancy.

This might sound kind of lame because it involves internet nerds and such, but if you're new to DC, you can make some awesome friends at a Fark party. I came to DC for law school in 2001 and went to my first Fark party in 2005... I've kept in touch with my "internet friends" way more than my "law school friends." Been through graduations, weddings, babies, and now (unfortunately) funerals with these folks. We're good people, I promise!
