It's a real pain being a stutterer. Even with theapy, you never know when it's gonna rear it's ugly head again.

WTFDYW: It's a real pain being a stutterer. Even with theapy, you never know when it's gonna rear it's ugly head again.

It's also a real pain having to work with one. I know they can't help it, but I can't help not being thrilled about a meeting being 50% longer than necessary, either.

/does that make me a bad person?

I preferred the various versions of this headline that were submitted with the last word being changed suddenly at the end.

I remember a report out of scotland (i think it was scotland) that concluded that when under the effects of cannabis, stutterers dont stutter.

The wonder drug that works wonders.

/but Im sure that report has long been buried by the govt.

Of course it's genetic.

There's a whole syndrome of behaviors:

write left handed
throw, bat, and kick right handed
stutter
mild dyslexia

I don't know if there's a name for the syndrome, but I've got it and I think an old Bengals QB had it.

It mostly affects males.

Maybe if you have the person sing their part and they wont stutter. Kind of like Mel Tillis.

"This study will allow our greater society to no longer stigmatize stuttering as simply a disorder where one 'needs to slow down' or that one 'needs to relax,'" said Dr. Gerald A. Maguire, a psychiatrist specializing in stuttering treatment at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine.

Here, smoke this.

"Every day, we hear from hundreds of parents who call us, and their first question is, 'Did I cause my child's stuttering?'" she said. "Knowing there is a biological base at least relieves that person of guilt."

Wait, if it's genetic, isn't it really the parents' fault?

Lifelong buddy of mine had a motorcycle accident (closed head injury) back in college. He was a stutterer all his life, but when we visited him in the hospital, he didn't stutter once in the hour or more that we were there. He couldn't walk, either - had to help him to the bathroom and he was chuckling about not being able to move his feet.

Couple of weeks later, he regained the use of his feet/legs - and his stuttering returned.

Brain's a funny thing...

Cue "not sure if serious" pic, as the headline is not original, clever, or funny at all. I can't imagine why you would want to take credit for it.

My dad was a stutterer and taught speech pathology. One of the things he told me about was the studies done in Iowa in the 30s and 40s where a guy actually caused stuttering in some folks...
