I hope that Michael J. Fox has a cameo. It would be awesome.

I think that I am familiar with the fact that you are going to ignore this particular problem until it swims up and BITES YOU ON THE ASS!

Not until someone explains to me why teaming Morgan with Willis in a cop movie was a good idea.

I'd like to see a retelling of the actual book, not a reboot based off the bastardized movie. i want to see hooper and ellen's affair. i want to see hooper get eaten by the shark. i want to see the mayor in debt to the mob.

come on, hollywood. let's get a dark film out there where the shark is an oblivious vigilante.

No. No. NO NO NO NO NO.

Hollywood: STOP IT. Seriously. Just STOP.

Stop farking around with reboots and remakes. Some have worked; most have failed. Leave the classics alone. You're not going to recreate whatever awe and wonder they inspired in the hearts of those who originally saw them, no matter what special effects or stars you toss into the mix.

Farking imbeciles.

*Please*, let this happen. Tracy Morgan headlining a movie (especially a high profile remake like this) will finally show the world how un-funny he is.

I always thought that Jaws was one of the rare instances where the movie was better than the book. All respects to Mr. Benchley, of course, I have enjoyed most of his works.

In any event, if they remake this flick with Tracy f*ing Jordan as Hooper, I might for real lose my shiat. I mean, I'm talking Quint-vs.-the-marine-radio-with-a-belaying-pin type lose my shiat, with Jordan and the movie execs playing the part of the radio.

I really farking hate when they remake the classics...you wouldn't repaint the sistine farking chapel, why would you remake the manchurian farking candidate?

Nerts. Some of the best movies have been remakes. Like The Maltese Falcon (the 3rd time is the charm, eh?) and The Wizard of Oz (remake #7).

That sturdy story, A Scandal in Bohemia, has been made 5 times and the last time was the best. (The Zero Effect).

WS's "Hamlet" has been filmed over 20 times. This century.

The third JAWS movie was already in 3-d.

Only the first one was any good.

Farewell and adieu, to you fair Spanish laaadeeeeessss.

I would actually refuse to see this movie, based on the fact I love "Jaws". One the greatest, if not the greatest, movies of all time. This is one of my favorite movies from my childhood. I refuse to have my childhood raped any further. Especially doing something as cheesy as a 3D movie.
Maybe they could have Michael Bay direct, then they could have the ushers at the theater sodomize me while I watch it.

Tracy Morgan as James Bond

Tracy Morgan as Indiana Jones

Tracy Morgan as Carey Mahoney

OK, so the last one wouldn't really damage the franchise, but still.

/Photoshop Tracy Morgan in a movie that shouldn't be remade

It was disappointing enough, after reading the book, to see Dryfuss as Hooper. Now Tracy Morgan. I can't fap to this. Going back to the book to read the pages that are folded down.

Remakes are simply cheaper and easier to control than new properties. These days buying a spec script means the writer will want control and/or a cut of the profit.

Scripts they already own can be re-written and changed almost entirely and the writers can't ask for more than their fee for the re-write, the studio owns the original property.

If they do this, that will be yet another movie I will never, ever see, even if I was paid to watch it.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing this. Not in 3D because 3D is crap, but Tracy Morgan in Jaws? I'm sorry, Tracy Morgan is always funny, and the idea of him doing his thing in a movie about a big ass mechanical shark that eats white people?

Sounds like fun to me.

JAWS 3D tanked when it first came out as a shiatty follow up to a shiatty sequel. The sad part is they almost let the third Jaws film become a National Lampoon's parody/sequel called Jaws 3, People 0 (new window)

My feeling is that remakes/reboots should be done with movies that had fundamentally good stories, but poor execution. Don't remake good movies; remake the bad ones.

I really can't imagine how Jaws can be improved upon by a remake.

The John Huston Maltese Falcon was the first (and so far as I know, only) version of the Dashell Hammett story.

he 1939 Oz with Judy Garland was the second or third version of the Oz story filmed.
