At least it's not that shmuck Gregg Easterbrook. I can't believe that farker said that the Saints had nothing to lose in the Super Bowl because their season was already a success.

FTFA:

18. Coach of the Year

What I said then ...

Jim Mora Jr., Seattle Seahawks.

What actually happened ...

Mora got fired. I might not be far behind.

Score: 0 points.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

*Gasp*

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

But speaking as a Seahawks fan, I wish that prediction had come true.

/IIRC, he's not technically a "Jr." because he doesn't share the same middle name as his dad.
//Not that it matters now.

Good on this guy.

All in good fun, Wojo - impossible to call.

A much more enjoyable exercise, which we started doing this year, is after the fantasy draft was done (in one of my 12-team leagues), everyone sends in a quote about each pick and why they took them.

Gave one of our friends a good ribbing about his fifth-round acquisition of Chris Henry (non-PPR) and his reason: "If he keeps his head on his shoulders, a healthy Palmer can make him a #1"

/too soon?

This was hilarious, good on the guy. It reminds me of when Dr. Z was still writing, and would always mention how he picked against the Jets with Joe Namath in the Super Bowl. Here's an article that he mentions it and uses that as his excuse to pick the Giants to upset the Patriots in the Super Bowl:

Link (new window)

Peter King is mentally retarded, he said that Jerry Rice isn't the best WR ever, and he always has Brady or Favre's dick in his mouth. I don't have time to read Eastbrooks novels on Science either, but I like his nicknames for teams and his talk about the football gods and cheerleaders who dress appropriately for the weather being a bunch of biatches, and "fark punting"

I miss Dr. Z.

I think he should get an extra point for being able to spell his own name.

I'd give him 1/2 point for 21. Everything he predicted happened, but not quite as much as needed.

Also, Jim Mora is not a farking football coach. He is a player weasal who sucks off his stars.

FishyFred: At least it's not that shmuck Gregg Easterbrook

Na. Easterbrook's annual prediction wrap-up is actually worth reading. Mostly because he does all the annoying work of getting everyone's predictions together in one place.

2010-02-10 10:34:23 AM
I can rate my season predictions in 150,000 words or more!

2010-02-10 10:57:52 AM
Does Easterbrook still bloviate with such thickness as to make his brother's circuit court opinions read like Highlights for Children? I always hated his "look how smart and clever I am" style (especially since he's not) and quit reading his stuff entirely after that wacko "Jews run the media" or whatever rant he made about Michael Eisner and Disney and Kill Bill.

2010-02-10 11:03:02 AM
I predicted before the season started that the Browns would defeat the Steelers and that I would be there to see it.

I deserve two points for that one.

2010-02-10 11:39:37 AM
Nice little read. Good to see a sportswriter not take himself too seriously. With the Pro Bowl moved to before the Super Bowl writers now have a hole to fill. This was a good choice. Not to mention that it makes for a decent season wrap-up article as well.

You only quit reading him because that j-run media stopped running his articles.

I had a dreamnightmare a few weeks ago that I got hired to work over the PR department for the Redskins. Personal recommendation to Snyder by the owner of the radio station where I used to work (and long-time Redskins Radio affiliate until Red Zebra bought stations here, locally).

zac1722: if you hate easterbrook, king etc as much as i do bottom of the barrel blog rips the hell out of them using research and facts

Let's look for the first Easterbrook reference on that site:
Gregg puts Cedric Benson on his unwanted team this year. There was no reason for an NFL team to even sign Benson because he had attitude problems and was an underachiever with the Bears. Yet, Gregg still finds him to be "unwanted"
I'm sorry, but that's pathetic.

I can't even figure out his point. A guy has an attitude problem, so no-one signed him, but its wrong to call him "unwanted". WTF?

Reading on ... Sorry, if I don't want to see a badly written parody of FireJoeMorgan. Bottom Of The Barrel is just terrible.

FTA, and please note this is for NFC ROY:

I got blind-sided (pun apology) by second-place finisher Michael Oher of the Baltimore Ravens. Still, I've got to give myself some credit for having Harvin in the preseason top two.

...sorta hard to be an NFC ROY candidate in the AFC, isn't it, Gene?

I think you missed this FTA: See, they sort of got rid of the NFC and AFC rookie thing. Instead, there was an offensive and defensive ROY.

Gene's predictions were not done for offensive and defensive, which is how the league did it this year. Yeah, he should have put the Oher comment under the AFC, but both of his NFC predictions were offensive players, so I guess he felt it okay to put the Oher comment there.

Not a care for either team in the SB.

My opinion on the article, this guy is a whiny, flaming douchebag.

"Gentleman's rule"?

There's no crying in football, biatch.

Your team lost, as did mine earlier in the playoffs.

Get over it.

I'd give him a 1/2 point for the AFC north prediction.

he got the ravens at #2 and the Browns at #4 correct, just flipped the Steelers and Bengals. and he was 2 single score games(9 points) from getting that correct.
