I've always been a fan of his serious roles.

He'd make a good Riddler for the Batman series.

I wish I could tell you that Green Lantern fought the good fight, and the Black Lanterns let him be. I wish I could tell you that - but Ryut is no comic-book world. He never said who did it, but we all knew. Things went on like that for awhile - Ryut life consists of routine, and then more routine. Every so often, Green Lantern would show up with fresh bruises. The Black Lanterns kept at him - sometimes he was able to fight 'em off, sometimes not. And that's how it went for Green Lantern - that was his routine. I do believe those first two years were the worst for him, and I also believe that if things had gone on that way, this place would have got the best of him.

queue up the morons who (will claim they) won't see it solely because of the actor's politics. Meanwhile I have the best of both worlds - I know that Charlton Heston was a morally bankrupt simpleton AND I still enjoyed the hell out of planet of the apes and soylent green. Winner: me.

Guy Gardner came to OA in 1980 on a two-year stretch for B&E. That's breaking & entering to you. Cops caught him sneaking TV sets out the back door of a JC Penney. Young punk. Mr. Rock and Roll. Cocky as hell. Of course we liked him immediately.

Nothing stops. Nothing... or you will do the hardest time there is. No more protection from Sinestro. I'll pull you out of that one-bunk Hilton and cast you down with the Black Lanterns. You'll think you've been farked by a train! And the Corps? Gone... sealed off, brick-by-brick. We'll have us a little ring barbecue in the yard. They'll see the flames for miles. We'll dance around it like wild Injuns! You understand me? Catching my drift?... Or am I being obtuse?

I've seen a LOT of Charlton Heston movies, and enjoyed them. Ditto Bob Hope and John Wayne. Caring about an actor's politics is like reading the gossip columns to find out who they are farking. I might be able to care less, but it would require some effort.

Bruce Willis is a terrific actor, able to turn in a credible performance even in a mess like Armageddon. Ben Stein, on the other hand, is a monotonous right-wing tool.

/There are a few lefty actors that I would like to see coopered up in the same barrel as Stein and allowed to drop over Niagara Falls.

If I was going to start reading Green Lantern comics, where would I start? Is there a reboot or recent story arc that I should pick it up at?

Actually, yeah...kinda...The Green Lantern comic and Green Lantern Corp both restarted 3-4 years ago. They have been really good so far. (GL has been good, but GLC has been GREAT.)

If you want a good start place Green Lantern: Secret Origin was just recently collected. Also, Green Lantern: Rebirth explains how Hal Jordan isn't dead anymore.(If you are willing to dig a little into continuity.)

Yeah. About that; not so much but you do get a point or two for being concise in your opinion.

I'd like to see your proof of him beimg morally bankrupt and wonder (oh, so slightly) how your actions would stack up against your own beliefs. Not to well, I suspect.

Me? I don't watch Tim Robbins movies, not just because of his politics but because he's a mediocre actor.

Hmm...to each their own, but The Shawshank Redemption gives him a life long pass for me.

Why, is Robbins in nearly every scene?

So I'm guessing that the enjoyable moments will be the flashback scenes with Uma hitchiking back to "The Lantern" to reunite with her grrlfriends...

/crap, I think I need to go re-read this.

Why do we need to see Hector Hammond's father? For 'star power'?
