Fake outrage. The people who ride this bus line don't give a flying fark. "Activists" are just nutbags trying to get attention.

Well that's certainly putting a different slant on the controversy.

If it really runs through the heart of the Asian community, it should be called the yerrow rine.

Yeah, this is a slippery slope for sure.

I'm sure they don't see a problem with that.

So if I brought a bottle of Yellow Tail on the bus.....

Yellow is clearly 5th on the subway line superiority chart. Starting from the first line, it goes: Red, Green, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Brown, Purple, Grey/Silver, Pink.

onoes, people are making generalized observations of skin color.

Maybe if they rename it in RGB values...

Wait til they hear the train operator tell them the next stop is Chambodia.

I don't get it, are Asian people superstitious about the color yellow, or is it some American thing? Are they upset about being called cowardly?

2010-02-09 09:07:37 AM
99% of people alive today have probably never heard the word 'yellow' used in a racist manner. Activists suck.

There's no trainline that goes through mid-town down past Piedmont park.

DNRTFA, just figured the entire bus route was on Buford Highway (or little Korea for those of you outside the ATL).

Only people looking for something to complain about would even notice. Some folks just have nothing better to do with their time.

MARTA, proof of extreme incompetence in the city of Atlanta this is the same agency who gave a bus driver convicted of multiple DUIs a job driving a subway train.

Do these people just walk around looking for anything colored black or yellow and scream racist to the nearest person if they find something just to see if they get in the paper?

Drive through Doraville sometime while listening to the song of the same name by Atlanta Rhythm Section. Cognitive dissonance at its finest. Those guys from ARS must have fled in horror at least 30 years ago.

If your sense of self and ethnic identity can be threatened by the color of a bus line you have less to worry about than I do so I have little to no sympathy.

Bravo that we have gotten to the point in our society where our problems are this trivial. This is a good thing.

Just like all the people on the red lines who were called communists, the people on the blue lines who were called manic depressives, and the people on the orange lines who were accused of fomenting revolution.

The people on the green lines were evenly divided between being upset/happy about being called ecologically-sensitive/hippies.

The yellow line in DC goes through Chinatown/Gallery Place and I never heard any complaints. Except maybe that the yellow line is only good for crossing the potomac and not much else.

I was in Breckenridge the other week and saw on the route display of a bus:

"Black/Negro"

Even though I'm fluent in Spanish, that naming convention caused me to stop in my tracks for a moment, and then burst out into laughter.

I do wonder if anyone ever did get offended due to multi-lingualism.

I rode a bus on this route. The biggest hassle was at every stop light, we had to get out and run around the bus, then get back in.
