Dude, are you serious? Don't be a child. the scale of time it will take before we can really start travelling to these places is large.

We have to know more about them before we go. It's a lot cheaper and a lot safer, and we learn much more, if we send robots all over the place. We should also send people eventually, of course, duh, and everyone knows it. But it's more likely to work out well if we know more about where they are going first.

It's not like all we're getting from these robots is pics of rocks. We've legitimately overhauled our understanding of Mars thanks to cheaper robots. This is good shiat. And it's so relatively cheap to do, when the implications of being able to colonize a different world in 100 years come into play.

Use the money to create a replacement for the shuttles. Start making some tritium fusion reactors so that colonizing the moon has some economic purpose (lots of tritium up there).
