I've made an origami penguin that was smaller than that. Granted it's a much simpler fold.

C'mon, Deckard. I'm right here, but you've gotta shoot straight!
Straight doesn't seem to be good enough! Now it's my turn! I'm going to give you a few seconds before I come.

I wonder how well that thing would fly as a spitball.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain. Time to die.

I saw the headline as "amazing miniature organ".

Thought, "why would he want to show that?".

Every origami story on here makes me think of "Heavy Rain" and how I won't be moving from my couch for a bit starting Feb 23rd.

/there have been quite a few origami stories here lately.

Hey, I do the same thing! Mine aren't quite as small... Here's a rose brooch and a bunch of cranes.

It's a good way to waste time. An unused wallet pocket can hold dozens of sheets of paper.

Is it bad Id rather see an artist that folded normal sized stuff and used giant prop hands and rulers to make them LOOK small?

I call complete and utter shenanigans. Here in my office I have a mobile of 8 cranes I made; they measure 1.6cm each and I am by no ways thinking they're close to being "the smallest ever". I'm pretty sure I could make them at 1.2, and I am by no means anyone worthy of a dumb internet article.

I used to make cranes out of 1 square of 1cm x 1cm paper (I would cut it off graph paper then fold), so I'm calling shenanigans on "world's smallest"

2010-02-08 03:30:21 PM
Alright... here it is: 9 minutes later and a really crappy camera taking the picture but as you can see, this one probably comes in at about 1.2cm. No tweezers, either. So I call total BS on this "artist's" claims.

/Yes, it's a good quality crane.
//No, I'm not proud
///Yes, I'm calling this dumb. Compare this to the work of Willard Wigan.

Nimble-fingered artist Mui-Ling Teh

I think I heard of her a lot when I used to go into chat rooms...

2010-02-08 04:13:44 PM
I have also made some pretty tiny cranes somewhere in the ballpark of 1-1.5 cm. I would be really disappointed if that was the pinnacle of human achievement in tiny-paper-folding.

2010-02-08 04:16:12 PM
Might as well jump on the "big deal" prick-wagon. I used to do smaller and more complex folds when I was a kid. Where's my parade?
